★★★★★Just returned from a family stay at Grosvenor Lodge and was beyond impressed. The location is perfect--secluded, quiet, peaceful, and Grosvenor is a small lodge. |The manager/fly-fishing guide Jeff was patient, helpful, and funny, and took us to the best spots to catch rainbow trout and whatever we were trying to hook. He has many years' experience guiding in Alaska and was made sure the details of our trip were taken care of. We felt very taken care of by all the staff, from the flights in and out of Anchorage, King Salmon and Grosvenor, to the boat rides to other fishing hot spots. |The chef Jeremy wowed us with daily gourmet creations and had a great personality to match. |Highly recommended, especially for the smaller lodge experience. A few days here will seriously "reset" you.

★★★★★Our group of four had an amazing fly fishing experience at Grosvenor this past June. This kind of private small group experience has becoming rare even in Alaska. Having lived in Alaska for 35 years, I have had many guided fishing experiences, but nothing to top this. With Jeff's expert assistance, we caught and released hundreds of large Rainbows, Lake trout and Arctic Char just outside our cabin door, or a short boat ride away. We fished from dawn to dark every day, and rarely had a slow moment.||||This is a private holding within Katmai National park. Its not actually a lodge, more a group of cozy cabins with propane heating, flush toilets, hot showers and gourmet meals served with a mile by chef Jeremy. Unlike the other lodges in Katmai, there are only three double guest cabins, so the group size is always small. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. ||||Grosvenor is located in the middle of a national park and is truly spectacular. Grizzly bears were sighted but were not a problem. It's not cheap, but worth the extra money if you want a unique and comfortable Alaska fly fishing experience.

★★★★★If you are looking for an exceptional Alaskan adventure, Grosvenor Lodge is the place.||The personalized experience is exemplified in both fishing and food. ||Nick, the guide. delivered us to great fly fishing locations- Rainbow, Sockeye, Char, Lake trout, and even Pike. We saw eagle, bear, beaver, etc. Nick provided tips and education to both me and my son, with a relaxed approach. ||Jeremy, the chef, was engaging and created top-notch meals. We were impressed with the variety of appetizers and quality dinners- Ahi, Duck, Crab cakes, Tenderloin, etc. The desserts were great and breakfasts were tasty and filling.

★★★★★I had expected the typical edible but unexciting Lodge food at Grosvenor Lodge. I was totally blown away by the meals prepared by Chef Jeremy Wright. The food was what one would experience at a Michelin Star Restaurant. Having surprisingly awesome food definitely made this a much more pleasurable vacation as I like good food. I also had fun fishing and the environment was beautiful and peaceful.

★★★★★This place is AMAZING!!! Secluded and quiet. I was there for 7 days with 2 friends and we had a blast. Our guide Ray, who runs the whole place, was unbelievable. I am new to fly fishing and he still got me to hook over 300 fish during the week. Not only is he a great guide, but a great man as well. He was patient, calm and reassuring. One of the guys I went with travels all over the US and Canada fishing and he said that Ray was the best guide he has ever come across and coming from him, that is high praise.||||Lindy was our chef for the week. I haven't eaten that well in ages. We ate like kings!!! She had eggs to order every morning and an appetizer waiting for us when we returned from a long day on the river. The dinners she prepared are top notch (we had filet mignon one night). You will not go hungry.||||All the buildings are relatively modern and you get hot showers at will (very important!!!). They have AC to charge you electronics and Ray was nice enough to download my pics to his computer and transfer to my iPad since I had forgotten my card reader. ||||You will see bears...oh plenty of bears. But worry not, they are more interested in the fish than the humans. We saw a couple of wolves and some bald eagles as well. Bring your camera and have it ready!!!||||As for the fishing. You will travel by boat daily to different fishing spots. Some days you will jump from gravel bar to gravel bar fishing for rainbow trout, sockeye salmon and dolly varden, other days you will "walk the braids" and fish as you walk, stopping where the fishing is good. You don't have to worry about catching fish...sometimes it was hard NOT to catch fish. ||||Obviously I can not say enough nice things about the place or the people. Everyone from the staff at the main hanger to the pilots to the shuttle drivers were friendly and accommodating. I want to go back!!!||||Chris

★★★★★I have fished at a bunch of the bigger, brand name lodges in Western Alaska and nothing is like this. Secluded, small and great home water. It only takes 4 - 6 rods a week, so a small group can take it over like their private lodge. Rare opportunity indeed.
