This is a fantastic little place on the way to Denali National Park. Robin is a friendly host and makes sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. She manages the whole property by herself and goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. My wife was very impressed with the service. Price is also very reasonable as well. I will definitely recommend this place.

One hidden Gem 💎!! Highly recommend this place! The old pictures did not do any justice! Check out the photos which I have attached ! I recently had the pleasure of staying at a lodge during my vacation, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This lodge truly surpassed my expectations in every aspect, leaving me with fond memories that I will cherish for years to come. The lady Robin was great, I loved her company! She does ALL the work by herself!!! There is no help. Hope she gets help SOON! Everything from the bedding, VERY comfortable beds, the cozy rooms, cleanest bathroom ( with all the essentials ), Strong WiFi, Laundry bins in the room, more than 5 Power outlets, Private entrance, Free parking, Breakfast included. The rooms are SO cute, tv, a refrigerator, portable fans, extra bedding, extra towels is offered in a very less price. People waste money by staying in the Denali Park area spending alot of money for the stay. The Roadhouse is located just 1 hour away from the National Park. Laundry is also available. Robin is a VERY friendly hostess. ❤️ From the moment I arrived, the lodge's picturesque setting immediately captivated me. Nestled amidst lush forests and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, it provided a serene and tranquil escape from the bustling city life. The natural beauty that enveloped the lodge was simply awe-inspiring.

This place has so much character! We stayed last week and the bed was so comfy, and the owner a beautiful soul! If you're headed up to Fairbanks, stop here and rest for sure. The bathroom was clean and the room was everything you need after a day of driving or hiking or both! Coffee pod maker in the room along with a microwave and fridge if needed and the hospitality was amazing!

I'm giving it 2 stars simply because the limited interaction I had with the host was so sweet. She called me the morning of the stay to make sure we had directions, could get in, and knew where to stop for food. It was very thoughtful and considerate. Unfortunately that was the best part. Upon arrival it appeared no one was there and we were the only ones staying in the entire place. The back stairs were so steep and crackling that I was nervous on them and my mom couldn't get up with her bad knees hardly at all. It was very gruby, and not the cleanest. I understanding keeping the nostalgia, but cleaning and regular upkeep would really help, as well as mowing or weed eating around the property. There was junk piled up all over the property. It is a very cute concept and idea but the execution seems really lacking. The bedroom door would not stay closed and the shared bathroom is not ideal, however tolerable if the rest was up to par. I'm very dissaopinted as I was looking forward to meeting the host, she seemed super sweet.

Went on a saturday night at 6pm..staff were all very friendly and helpful. There were 17 of us eating here and we had a long table near the bar. The food, drinks, service was amazing. To top the night off the owner after her rush was over, decided to have a drink with us, and listen to great music of our choosing. After such a great night we decided to stay and try out the rooms. The room was clean, the beds were made, the room was perfect. Normally we have a problem with the water presser when we visit hotels when we drive from Fairbanks to homer. Though this room we didn't have a problem with it. Good luck finding a better place on the highway then this place. The Fireweed Roadhouse is a home away from home.

I stayed at this roadhouse off of Airbnb. I must say that when I pulled up to the lodge, I was kind of creeped out. It's in the middle of nowhere (well it's Alaska so this was expected), the closest gas stations and restaurants and many miles away. But, for my friends and I, this was the ideal place to relax. There is data coverage and network, the cell phone tower is right next to the property (just in case if anyone is worried about signal loss). I think most importantly, Valerie is very sweet and she maintains the property's interior well. Sheets were clean and her muffins were delicious in the morning. She was very friendly and I would definitely stay here again if I visit Alaska again. The lodge is only 45-50 minutes from some great hikes in the Denali National Park and it's one hour away from Fairbanks (so more food opportunities). Make sure you go to the North Pole when in the area too, it's a cute place to visit!

On our way back to Healy from Chena Hot Springs, we decided to stop at the Fireweed for dinner. I ordered a burger, a 1/3 pounder, and my husband ordered the chicken strip burger. Both were absolutely delicious! Our burgers were huge! Must have been the biggest 1/3 pounder ever! The meals are served with your choice of sides, we both ordered the soup, very good! Big chunks of all kinds of vegetables. The food is very well priced and the restaurant feels very homey. We were the only ones for the majority of our meal and we had a great time visiting with the owners, and their new 7month old Yorkie puppy named Betty who was super cute! Anyone traveling through Nenana would be wise to stop and eat here!

This is a Roadhouse, not a BnB or a resort hotel. The Alaskan Roadhouse is a dying institution but this one still shows off the best of the genre: part restaurant, part college dorm, part grandma's house. Set your expectation accordingly. You won't have a private bathroom but you will have a comfy stay in a remote corner of the state showered with kindness from a remarkable host (and her family, if they're visiting as well). The property has been around since the 1960s and it shows, but that's part of the charm. You're experiencing history. Enjoy it!
