Thunder Mountain Lodge

We had a great three night stay at Thunder Mountain Lodge. Our cabin was clean, equipped with everything we needed, very conveniently located along with great weather/snow conditions. The area was very quiet and relaxing. Jeff did a great job guiding us on a full day snowmobile trip filled with a combination of groomed trails, open areas filled with powder, and of course some tree riding. The views and scenery were spectacular. Jeff is a seasoned guide and vary familiar with the terrain as well as knowledgeable about the area. Our unguided days were filled with additional snowmobiling made enjoyable by marked trails and maps provided by our host. It was an added bonus that we could ride from our cabin, no need to trailer our sleds. I highly recommend Thunder Mountain Lodge and we hope to return again.

Our guide was a wealth of knowledge, ensuring we felt secure while zipping through the stunning winter landscape. The team fitted us out with high-quality snow suits, helmets, goggles, and gloves, so we were ready to take on the frosty terrain. The trails were impeccably maintained, and we were delighted to find plenty of snow, even late in the season! The lodge and accommodations were equally impressive—spotlessly kept and brimming with charm, making it ideal for a cozy getaway. Having grown up snowmobiling in the beautiful Colorado mountains, I was unsure if I’d find the tour thrilling, but it truly exceeded all expectations! This adventure is perfect for everyone—individuals, thrill-seekers, couples, and families with kids—they cater to all kinds of vacationers. This was our family trip. We had 3 generations snowmobiling all together for 2 full days. The memories we made were priceless. Jeff was our guide for both days and he did an amazing job. We snowmobiled on all different types of terrain. They provided EVERYTHING! We had clean and warm gear to use and well-maintained snowmobiles. | The cabins were clean, and they had everything that we needed. The customer service was next level. Every time we would call before our trip with questions Jessica would always pick up the phone. This is definitely a family ran business and now a days that is hard to come by. After the first ride on the first day, we were hooked and already talking about next year's trip here and that we would definitely ask Jeff to be our guide again. Thanks Jessica and Jeff!

This place is amazing from the cute little cabins to the beautiful views and woods. We booked 3 cabins for a snowmobile trip in February and had no issues. The snowmobiles were is great shape by far the best sleds we have rented over the last few years . The cabins we perfectly spaced out for privacy but close enough for your group to hangout together . Would highly recommend Thunder Mountain. We will be booking there for all future trips. Thanks Jeff for the great experience !!!!

We went on the snowmobile tour. Jeff was great and the Grand Mesa is so beautiful. This was the best snowmobile experience I have ever had. Jeff was a fantastic tour guide. He provided us with an unforgettable day. There was a meadow where we could really let lose and go fast and some forest sections with beauty and solitude. I highly recommend the Thunder Mountain Lodge Experience and the great hosts Jeff and Jessica!

What a GREAT experience! Today our family did the snowmobile tour with Jessica and we had so much fun! The tour was well explained to us. The sleds were in great shape and all the features shown to us in detail. During the tour we all felt safe and were made to feel super comfortable! We recommend this tour to anyone looking. The hot chocolate with marshmallows at the end of the tour was a pleasant surprise!

We try to get here every year we can for snowmobiling, it is my favorite spot! You can always ride out from your cabin and they have gas on site and owners are the best. There is tons of awesome close off trail riding and trails are usually pretty well groomed. The best part is that there is very limited lodging and park n rides so it is not so busy like most other popular sled destinations. Great place to stay anytime of the year, would recommend booking your trip now!

We did a snowmobile tour with Thunder Mountain Lodge and had an incredible time! Our group of 5 had mixed ability levels from first timers to intermediate. After talking to Jessica at the office, we decided a 3 hour group tour would work for all. The tour provides time on groomed trails, single track and free play time. It was a beautiful sunny day with fresh snow from earlier in the week. Our guide, Daisha, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The entire group had fun without feeling bored or overwhelmed even though we all were at different ability levels. I highly recommend it! We will be back in the future!
