Olsens Pheasant Phun

We just finished up 3 days of incredible upland hunting with Dave, Amy and the rest of the Pheasant Phun crew. The lodge is an incredible place, the bird hunting is second to none, the dog work is fantastic, and the food at every single meal was excellent! The bar had an amazing selection and some rare booze too. We will be back!

3rd year back and another fantastic trip. Dave, Amy and Mrs Annie provide such a wonderful experience. Daves’s knowledge, safety, lodge, guides, dogs and property are absolutely first class. Amy and Mrs Annie are welcoming, kind and know how to make a weary hunter rejuvenated after a fun day in the fields. In fact, it authentically feels like coming home and being with family. Love these people and this experience. Thank you again for yet another amazing experience.

These Olsen's are the real deal! From the amazing hospitality to the abundant pheasant to pursue, this hunt was way beyond my expectations. The lodge was very roomy and comfortable, the food was delicious, the guides personable and fun, and Dave is just a wonderful host. I would highly recommend Pheasant Phun to anyone who wants to go on a genuine SoDak pheasant hunt and come away with lasting memories of flushing birds, beautiful working dogs, and great hosts to share with your friends and family.

The Olson's Pheasant Phun far exceeded my wildest expectations. The hunting was exceptional, all wild birds, great dogs, greater guides! The lodge is a hunters' palace, enormous evening bar and lounge, gourmet kitchen and dining area, the outside fire pits were great for BS fires, the beds were amazing, the accommodations were just top notch. Olson friends and family members drop in for dinners etc, the whole experience was so friendly, so casual, it was wonderful. Next year we're staying longer. When we left....but we left our deposits, (cash), for next year. I highly recommend Olson's Pheasant Phun.

The whole experience of this trip was over the top! Not only the abundance of birds, but watching Dave and his dogs in action was truly a sight to see. When we weren’t hunting, the lodge hospitality was also over the top, truly made you feel like part of the family in such a short time. Thank you Amy and Dave!

Pheasant Phun provides you with an experience you won't soon forget. The owners and staff provide some of the best hospitality I have ever experienced. The lodge provides a gaming area, a large dining area (where 5 Star meals are served during your stay), a very beautiful stone fireplace that is surrounded by windows boasting the most beautiful view of sunrises and even more beautiful sunsets and a very comfortable full bar area. When you think hunting lodge you probably envision an open bunk house but this is far from the case at Pheasant Phun. I would highly recommend staying in a suite when you visit, comfortable beds, tv, dual head showers and so much more! Call today and plan your hunt, you will not be disappointed!

Everything about this trip was amazing, already looking forward to coming back next year. Dave, Amy and the crew do a fantastic job. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a place to hunt or just relax and enjoy their lodge. The hunting is second to none and all their meals are delicious as well.

If you don’t like to be pampered, if excellent home cooked food is not your thing, and if you are just a crotchety so and so then you are not Olsen’s Pheasant Phun worthy. Even if you don’t hunt- this place is a bucket list EXPERIENCE! From arrival to departure no detail is left to question, these guys are experts when it comes to South Dakota preserve hunting. The staff is not only professional but personable. When I arrived, I wasn’t a hunter- I had never even shot a gun. Under the patience and tutelage of Dave Olsen I was able to shoot skeet. Dave, along with two other guides and a whole pack of working dogs ensured our group had a very successful hunt. Afterwards we returned to the lodge for a home cooked meal by Amy and Annie. Everything is homemade - salsa, pickles, jalapeño jelly, caramel rolls, and apple pie. Throw in a game of shuffle board or billiards and before you know it, its time for a good night’s rest. The suites are well appointed with pillow top mattresses and extremely soft linens. If needed, Dave is ready with a night cap to help you along. This place is perfect for entertaining clients, rewarding employees or a family reunion. I mentioned it was a bucket list experience, the problem is it wont come off the list.
