Bad experience, I did pay $75 I didn’t claim it back just because I was traveling from California and hotel like that it’s not common here probably just as shelter for homeless people. She showed me 3 rooms, 2 of them stinks to death, and one in second floor almost make me throw up. But it’s okay I understand. Every state is different but I decided not to stay. In the other part the lady at the office was super nice.

I went to the motel to ask for the room price. I kindly asked how much is the room price and can I see the room. The attitude of the receptionist was very rude, instead of helping, he yelled at me and asked me to leave my property. My English is not very good, I tried to explain the situation. I said I'm new here and he started to act racist: He said go and don't come again.

Hmmm - Well, its a West Colfax run down motel. What can I say? But its cheap shelter for those who need it. I had a connection between somebody who worked here and a church I was having a hard experience with - and this turned very sour while I stayed here at this motel. The room was ok. It had a full fridge which was very nice and helpful to me. It had a microwave which had no glass turntable, but still was quite usable, and that was useful and helpful to me. They did, however, FREEZE me to death at first. I called to ask them about the heat, and was informed owners had not turned it on. After a few days, it dropped to below freezing - and I could not feel my fingers anymore - this after being in a heavy coat, and with hat and 3 blankets on me - it was COLD. (I also had the flu - which was known when I checked in - to freeze a human being who is sick, is completely uncalled for!) So people outside were scraping ice off their windows - and I asked people if they had heat in other areas of the motel. The answer was "yes" and so the "owners not turning the heat on" line looked like baloney to me! I was very upset. I also tried to contact the hotel, and got only a recording. So I took this to the police and finally public health - I actually also called an attorney but let that ride for now. Public health did call and let this hotel know that they were compelled to provide heat to guests when it was below freezing. About 2 seconds after Public Health called, the heat came on. Then it boiled me like a sauna, but finally regulated. However, then my last night after I left a "thank you " message to the office for the accomodations and mentioned the heat problem - I was also boiled out of there again. Between this and negative relations with the church that was my connection to them - I left quite angry. I never bothered anybody at all. I just wanted heat - like anybody would. The management never would speak to me and very passive - aggressively avoided me at every turn. The police even called to find out what was going on in my case, and the management failed to get back to them for 8 hours - the Chief was sort of upset about that and that's what I was told! (really) I'm sorry - the room was not bad, I was happy to be out of the elements, but the treatment was quite bad, disrespectful and I thought bordered on abusive too. (if this motel wants to stay in business, maybe they ought not to be passive-aggressive to their guests). Oh yes, and they let anybody smoke and I guess they don't monitor guests and there were crazy going-on's at times, etc. I could write a book.

The place is clean, old, but clean and no bugs. The owners or people that manage the property are very nice. They have great TV options. They are extremely close to public transportation. Close to a grocery store. I would recommend it for a budget stay.

I really loved the mother Gina. She was the nicest person I ever met at the Gold's hour motel. She was not once mean to me. I feel comfortable on my stays here and not bothered.
