This is the best place to stay in the northwoods! The cabins are spotless and the area is quiet. If you desire a place to disconnect from the day to day distractions, you’ll find it here. Matt and Leah are the perfect hosts. Bring a book and a fishing rod, that’s all you’ll need. We came here many years ago when our kids were little…they brought bikes, games and a beach ball to play volleyball. We could not wait every summer to come back to fish from the pier, go for hikes and just spend quality family time together. We made many wonderful memories that our kids still talk about. Leave the electronics at home and you’ll go home relaxed and recharged and excited to come again next year.

This resort is owned and run by the Loew family. We stayed here most recently for a long weekend in the newer cabin, but have stayed in all of them over the years. The three cabins are simple two-bedroom cottages with a bathroom, kitchen, living room, and screened porch. They have heat and fans for cooling. From an amenities standpoint, they have a refrigerator/freezer, stove, coffee maker, pots/pans, cooking utensils, plates/silverware, etc. Each has a Weber grill as well. They provide the linens, but you need to bring your own towels. Each cabin has a pier nearby with a small aluminum rowboat. They rent small outboard motors with fuel if you want. We rented one for our stay and it worked perfectly. If you fish, they have a fish house to clean your fish. ||||Little Crooked is a small lake--150 acres or so--but it has plenty of fish and other wildlife. We fished a little and caught northern pike, crappies, and largemouth bass. While fishing and enjoying the lake, we saw a beaver, muskrats, a family of loons, and a bald eagle. During past trips, we have seen otters. ||||The resort is located about a 15 minute drive from Boulder Junction or a 25 minute drive from Manitowish Waters. The bike trail is easy to get to--right at the end of Bear Lake Rd along County Road K. ||||Overall, we keep coming back to Timber Lost because of its rustic simplicity, location on Little Crooked, and its great hosts the Loew Family.

We have stayed here before and were very glad to come back. If you want a great place to relax and refresh, this is it. No phones,no microwaves, no TV, no internet, just peace and quiet except for the loons and the eagles. Rustic 2 bedroom cabin with a full kitchen, dining area and sitting area. They are not large but they certainly work for a week or two visit. All the cabins have a screened porch with a day bed that is good for napping or reading or watching wildlife. The fishing off the dock is great for little kids to fish with lots of little pan fish and perch. Planning on returning next year. It is family owned and operated. The current owner's parents built the place in the 1940's and Matt and Jacob do a great job of taking care of anything you need.

Clean, basic cabin in the beautiful woods with a view of Little Crooked Lake. Nice family atmosphere with weekly bonfire including smores & popcorn. Rowboat and canoe available to cruise a good sized lake. Don't expect any high-end amenities but if you want a relaxing and beautiful place to stay this is it! Plus, Boulder Junction is very close where you can go out for a nice dinner, get some great cappucino, or have a beer & cheese curds.

This little slice of heaven is everything that I had hoped for in an escape from my hectic life. I have been traveling to Wisconsin's Northwoods during summers since I was a kid. Timber Lost Cottages brought back a rush of memories from when life seemed so much simpler. The nostalgic look at feel of these rustic cabins is like stepping back 50 years in time. You won't find TVs. You won't find lots of people. You won't find jet-skis. You won't even hear distant traffic. What you will find is only the sounds of nature, the breeze blowing through the trees, the sounds of birds, and the haunting sound of loons out on one of the quietest lakes I've ever encountered for its size. If escaping the work of worries of you everyday life is what you are looking for, this is your place.

We spent a week there and loved it!! Great getaway from everything. The cabins were good and the hosts are very nice. Family owned and operated. We will be back when we have a chance. Good bass fishing. Loved sitting on the dock and reading and watching the bald eagles and loons. A short drive from restaurants, groceries, golf and more.
