NillI recently stayed at Nirmala Homestay, and it was a disappointing experience. First, the geyser wasn’t working, which made for an uncomfortable stay. To make matters worse, there was no fan provided in the room, and the lack of proper ventilation (with only one window) made it feel stuffy and claustrophobic. The room felt hot and uncomfortable throughout my stay. On top of that, the owner and staff were not very welcoming or helpful – they came across as a bit rude and unapproachable. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It needs significant improvements in both amenities and customer service." The place is neat and clean, that's the only positive thing about this place. ! I rather prefer to stay at Rheinburg, which is right next to this place. Do check it out. I have put a review on their location with pictures...

★★★★★Nice and friendly homestay. Quiet and clean. Good beds and warm shower (we did sometimes have to ask for it and it was always provided). We got towels and free coffee/tea. And tips on where to hike. We also had our clothes washed for a reasonable price.|We would definately stay here again!

NillNice homestay! We stayed a few days and had a great time. Enough space for yoga in the driveway, wifi works when it’s not raining, great view (you have to climb to get there) and clean rooms. Staff is very kind and are there to help. My one suggestion is to have potable water available so we don’t have to bother you every time :)

★★★★★Having a wonderful experience staying in Nirmala Cottage Homestay. Although its a short steep climb up from the town, its minutes from a wonderful veg restaurant and the heart of Munnar, but once you're up at the cottage, it's quite tranquil and away from the hustle and bustle which is pretty full on in Munnar town! For the first time in a long time I didn't need earplugs to be able to get to sleep! So peaceful.|Spotlessly clean and all furniture and fittings in excellent condition like new. Everything works - the lightswitches, plug points, bathroom equipment, door and window fastenings, TV if you want it. One of the biggest, softest most comfortable beds I've slept in in India. Fast wi-fi. Hot water on request free of charge. Big thick fleecy blanket. Good pillows. Sunny sit out right outside your room door for morning sunshine, or shaded table and stools in the small but pretty front garden. Washing line to hang washed clothes next to house at side and ironing service available. Possibly there's a laundry service available too but haven't checked.|Tea or coffee brought to your room in the morning but no breakfast served here. Its a three minutes walk to a good breakfast place. |Great views over Munnar town and surrounding hills although not as spectacular as being out of town.|Anish the owner couldn't be more helpful and friendly. I paid R1500 for a double room as it's still out of season, and feel like I got really good value for money. |Would highly recommend.|

★★★★Cheap and cheerful. (We paid 800 rupees a night)|Located just behind busy downtown but very quiet - so long the motorbike is not switched on at 7am. |Room only basis. No towels, no toiletries, no breakfast no service once you are given your room. |We had hot water the night we arrived and the day we left, but not the day in between. Don't know why. |Perfect for what we were looking for, but if you are after the homestay experience getting to know the locals then I wouldn't recommend this place. But, as we wanted just somewhere reasonably priced with such a great location for us it was great and we would return here if ever we come back to Munnar. |

★★★At the Munnar busstation I told the rickshaw guy to drive us to the JJ Cottage which unfortunately was full. Then without being asked he took us to the Nirmala homestay. ||The owners have no idea what a homestay is meant to be. This place doesn't feel like home. You are not treated like a guest. They don't want any kind of communication with guests, they are only interested in the money. ||He is rude and quite agressive, she's is clumsy and barely speaks. Their son (13 yrs) is the only friendly one. Hopefully he'll be in charge witthin a couple of years. ||||This 'homestay' has 3 rooms: 2 at the back, small and dark and 1 at the front next to the entrance. This room is big, very clean and very good (INR 1500). Wifi is fast. ||The location is good, quiet and at walking distance from noisy downtown Munnar.||No breakfast of course!!||||It was late and we were tired so we took the room. I don't regret it but this place is definitely NOT a homestay.

★★★★★Very clean and cosy room and spotless bathroom with heater facility. Centrally located, walking distance to town. WiFi available. Nice view from the terrace. Felt that it was slightly overpriced, but most of the services in Munnar are more expensive than in the lower lands.

★★★★★Our room is the front one, next to the main house of the host family. We love the room as it is extremely clean and spacious. In front of our room, there is a nice sitting area which allows us to sit, read and enjoy the nice breeze of Munnar.||The host family is very friendly and helpful. The family also runs a fashion shop / tea shop which sells all kinds of cotton outfits with very cheap price and premium quality. All the prices are fixed, no hassle of bargaining or haggling !!!! They also gave us advice on tea leaf, the tea is also good quality with very good price.||Apart from the homestay, I also highly recommend Nirmala fashion shop and store, fixed price with premium quality !!!! Moreover, the owners were very down to earth, they didn't try to sell anything at all, they just mentioned about the fashion shop/tea shop during the conversation and we invited ourselves to the shop. No hassle at all!!!!||Only 2 things I would like to remind everyone: one, our bathroom is quite small and a little bit dark but it is very clean. Nirmala also has other rooms with bigger bathrooms, just we love the front room so much so we don't mind a smaller bath room||Another thing is that, the homestay locates on top of a very steep road, it only takes 3 minutes to get down and walk to the city centre, but it is quite tiring climbing up. Our fitness level is very high but we need to take 2 breaks before climbing up and reaching the homestay. Of course you can take Auto rickshaws up, but due to the language barrier, we've chosen to walk up most of the time||Anyway, I strongly recommend Nirmala Homestay and fashion/tea shop to everyone!!!!
