Ram's Gratitude Inn

RECEPTION MAN KEPT ME AGAINST MY WILL. I arrived one day earlier to Varkala so I decided to try a different hostel for this first night, as I had booked another for the next days. I came across Ram's and liked their mission, so I went there. A guy started checking me in and took my information and then asked where I was going the day after. I told him I already had another booking. He then started getting weird and criticizing me in a passive agressive way questioning why I didn't choose his place for the next days, saying that "people are smart, they choose the other because it is cheap. People have money but they only come one night to feel they are helping", clearly talking about me in third person. At first I was not understanding much what was happening, by this point I got very uncomfortable by his insistence on questioning my decission and demanding answers. So I told him I didn't like his attitude and I was going to leave. Then it got worse. He stepped on the door and wouldn't let me leave. I asked him please to let me leave and he still wouldn't. I decided to go back to the chair with the hope he would move and I could make a run. After some time he moved, he kept insisting on me to stay saying that I didn't need to like him, I just had to like the room. He started offering me a better price. But I didn't want to stay with a person that wouldn't let me out of the office. When I saw him at a certain distance from door I made a run. He went after me and tried to catch me. Luckily I made it. Then he came to the street trying to covince me to stay. He started grabbing me so I ended shouting at him not to touch me anymore and left. It's such a pitty that a noble cause as this can be darkened by people like him that don't respect others.

Price wise really too low compare then other rooms and The host is the most wonderful human being that you can find😇.....

4 Stars coz facilities are good for the cheap price, 380 per night and 280 per head per night for groups( board is kept over there). on the other side , owner guy with long hair outside and almost nothing inside is a hypocrite and psychopath who keeps on bragging about his charity and and demand you to pay for his works. I didn’t pay coz i was doubtful as this person who boasts about his qualities and humanity is charging outsiders to use bathroom for like 100 Rs. If some of this money is used for treatment of his own mental disorders , guests might have a good time there. This is the cheapest hostel anybody can get in varkala and we took dorm bed here for the same reason. Like 💐 in 🐒 hands , he runs a nice property with the least possible standards. As a person with no principles and brain , cost of accommodation for people in the same room are different depending on their location and appearance. In the dorm i stayed here , he made fight with almost everyone in different occasions and behaved like a mad dog .

Rams graduate Inn is a very beautiful place and for me the only place to stay in Varkala. The owner Mr Ram is also very humble human being who also runs his own Annakshetra. The place is located very near to the temple and on the way to the South Cliff Main Beach. This place has single rooms double rooms and also dorm rooms. The place is very travel, friendly and has very peaceful, setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Definitely recommended for people visiting and work to stay in a very peaceful place. Also the whole place is full of positive energy with idols of God and goddesses as well as Tulsi and green plantations all across the property.

Need to work on maintenance and arranging basic amenities on time. There was a seating area just outside my room where everyone hangs out. So no privacy. I asked for another room. Other rooms were occupied and one available was very bad. Faced 4 hours of power cut. There is no power back up. It was too hot and we could not take a nap after the long travel. Lot of time wasted due to this. No linen was provided until evening since they had given it for laundry. Room interiors are not maintained and walls are dirty and is not like the pictures. I asked for a partial refund as a protest. However, I was told that I am being smart (the audacity). Customers are taken for granted here. A causal reply is given for everything, like linen is given for laundry, electricity was gone due to power cut in area. This is the first time I am hearing this kind of excuses and answers.

So this is the very first resort you come across as you enter Paapanasham Beach or Varkala Beach. The host Mr.Ram Rajesh is a very humble man. You must visit his place at least once. Apart from the homestay he also runs Anna Kshetra which has fed more than 1 Lakh poor people in the streets in the last 10 years.

Beautiful guest house, quiet location, surrounded by trees. Pretty and comfy room, comfortable bed with mosquito net. They have different accomodation options for different budgets. Prices are anyway lower than the avarage in Varkala and the place is really nice and very well taken care of. 1 minute walk from the beach. Easy access, no need to go up and down the cliff. You have two juice bars next to it, restaurant and coconut stall a few steps away. The owner is a good and dedicated person: he created a charity to feed poor people. He uses the profits to buy meals that he personally bring to people living on the street around Varakala area (you can ask to join). He's very sincere and deserves support. I really enjoyed my stay. The guest house is really beautiful and well located.
