Chini Bungalow Homestay, Kalpa

Stayed here for a day on my Spiti valley tour. The property is well known in surrounding areas as it is one of the old places at Kalpa. The rooms are good and the attached bathroom is well maintained. The homestay is very near market place. The highlight however is the views of Kinnaur Kailash from the balcony. Enjoyed the hospitality of the staff.

Although bit old property, however, the staff, location and view are amazing. Place is approx 40-50m from main marketplace and very clean. Also, if you are planning for Chaka trek, you may start right from this property. The views are amazing and owner is also very polite. Do visit and don’t litter.

Very nice guesthouse with a beautiful garden and great view. The room is clean and comfortable with hot water. The host is very friendly and helpful

I feel so grateful and lucky to come to Chini Bunglow. We came to stay only for two nights but we stayed for 18 instead! Totaram Ji and the family are the nicest people, giving you all the space but always ready when you need them. The views are spectacular. Rooms are well looked after, clean, and neat. Price is affordable. Everyone does fair play there, I wasn't overcharged for being a foreigner. While staying there, we met several returning customers, including those from abroad. Everyone said they have been returning for years (as Chini was one of the first guest houses in kalpa). And if God grants, I will be one of them too. I will always come back to Chini in Kalpa!

Really liked the place It is a small and cozy homestay situated in one of the best locations in Kalpa. The caretaker Mr. Totaram is really sweet and maintains the homestay really well. The place can NEVER be crowded because the homestay has ONLY 5 rooms and thus the maximum number of people that this place can accommodate is 10. Rooms have attached washrooms and they are neat and clean. Geysers are attached to all the washrooms for hot water supply 24x7. The homestay also has a small lawn and the view of the Kinner Kailash range from the homestay is really worth it. But, this place gets filled really fast so make sure that you book it well in advance. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Chini Bungalow was one of the best places during our Himachal trip. Impeccably clean room with bathroom and balcony with full view of Kinnaur Kailash mountains. Nice seating area on the balcony for enjoying the view. It is a short walk above the center of Kalpa, easily accessible if you travel by bus. Very friendly manager. Decent food and laundry service are available. Very reasonable price. Much recommended!

This place is amazing. Located right at the center of the main market. The views from this place are amazing as well with the entire Kinner Kailash range visible. In the mornings and evenings you also get to hear the chants from the Monastery nea4by, which again is just a 2 minute walk from the place. The caretaker, Totaram is an amazing person as well. Always willing to help and assist in anyway possible. We were a group of 3, and though a room there is for twin sharing, Totaram was kind enough to let as all stay in the same room, that too at no extra cost. It must be noted that you do not get meals served at this place, but all restaurants and eating places are maximum 3 minute walk away. We loved our stay here and whenever I visit Kappa, I am definitely going to stay at Chini Bungalow again.

I stayed with my family for two nights at this small bunglow cum home stay. The rooms are very basic and so the rates but the view from the balcony is awesome. We have never seen himalaya so close. There are many options for stay in Kalpa, which is a small village, but Chini Bunglow stands out from all these options because of Tota Ram, who manages this little Home Stay. He is always ready to help you in every possible manner. I have never heard him saying NO for anything. Amazing person to meet. If you are on an economy tour than Chini Bunglow and Tota Ram are best option for you in Kalpa. My suggestion is to opt for 2 rooms, which are situated little above rest of the rooms having fabulous view of the village and himalaya.
