So High Manali

I would advise anyone planning a tour with So High to be careful before booking. I had booked their Manali tour, which was being organised in the monsoons, when the weather and roads are quite bad. I was also charged the full amount for the tour well in advance. When the conditions in Manali became dangerous, I decided not to go and informed Sushmita about it. Initially, she assured me that my money would not go to waste and I could redeem it for another trip in the future. However, she later went back on her word and also refused any kind of refund. I ended up losing the entire amount and was also quite upset to have my trust broken like this. I understand that companies have their policies, but refusing to honour a commitment is very unprofessional. Please think twice before making advance payments to So High and clarify all cancellation and refund policies in writing beforehand.

Unreliable and Unprofessional – Avoid if Traveling with Family Very disappointing experience. We were on the way to the cottage at night and tried calling multiple times to get the exact location, but no one answered the phone. This was extremely stressful, especially since we had children with us. It was dark, unfamiliar location. For a hospitality service, this is unacceptable. Basic responsiveness and assistance—especially during check-in hours—is the least you expect. I would not recommend this place to anyone traveling with family or arriving late. "So High" is really So High almost in the clouds and the views from that place is really awesome. The host is very responsive and always ready to make your stay comfortable. There is short trek to reach the property, so if you are carrying heavy luggage, please connect with the host and book a porter. It will help in enjoying the views while trekking to the property rather huffing and uffing to carry the luggage. Once you reach the property, it's like reaching heaven.

I recently stayed at So High Manali and had a wonderful experience. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location was perfect, situated 15 mints from Mall Road. I especially enjoyed the small hiking to reach at the location, provided best camping experience. The breakfast provided each morning was a highlight and full paida wasool. Anyone who is looking for a cozy and authentic experience, must visit. I can't wait to return!

The room was simple and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. I loved the simplicity of the place and peace in every corner of the property. I recently had the pleasure of staying at So High Homestay, nestled in the beautiful hills of Manali, and it was an experience to cherish forever. Perched in a serene location away from the chaos, this homestay truly does justice to its name — you feel like you are “so high” in nature’s lap! The highlight of my stay, without a doubt, was the authentic Bengali food. The owner, a warm and welcoming Bengali woman, has brought the true essence of Bengali cuisine to the hills of Himachal. Each meal was a soulful experience, cooked with care and love, reminding me of home. From piping hot luchi-aloo dum for breakfast to delicious shorshe ilish and kosha mangsho for dinner, every dish was flavorful and prepared with fresh, local ingredients. It was a rare treat to enjoy such authentic Bengali flavors amidst the mountains! The homestay itself is beautifully maintained. The rooms are cozy, clean, and well-decorated, offering large windows that frame the stunning views of the snow-capped peaks. Waking up to the sight of the majestic Himalayas and the chirping of birds is an experience I will never forget. The owner’s hospitality and personal touch truly set So High apart from other places. She went out of her way to make me feel at home, sharing stories and ensuring all my needs were met. Whether it was arranging transport for local sightseeing or recommending hidden spots away from the tourist crowd, her guidance was invaluable. If you’re looking for a place where nature, comfort, and homely hospitality come together, So High Homestay is the perfect choice. Whether you are a solo traveler, a couple, or a family, this gem in Manali offers a unique and peaceful retreat with a taste of Bengal in the mountains.
