NillThe property is so serene and beautiful with cosy cabins. Loved that it is pet-friendly! The service was great and they were very accommodating in serving us vegan food.

NillIn one word: Heavenly. For details, read on. This is our second linger property, and what a place and the hosts. Of my 25+ years of holiday experience, this comes to the top!! Reasons: Quaint peaceful cottage, great natural sunshine, fresh air, extremely quiet night sleep void of any external noise or light. Awesome host, kishan and his wife, lip smacking food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No repeat for 3 days. Authentic local, organic, homemade. This is something you will not get even at any 5 star hotels. Some veggies are grown right in the backyard where you sit for dinner. Thanks to the Linger team. It is truly a great place for doing nothing vacation. Kishan did take us for a morning walk one of the days surrounding the area around fringe forest. All round beautiful place. Haven for birds and butterflies. We saw more than 20 species of birds just sitting around the dining area. Carry your own binoculars. We stayed the first week of January. Would love to keep coming again and again.

★★★★★We had a wonderful experience at 3 wooded acres, Madikeri. We went with family friends for 2 days. The location is right in the middle of the forest and like it is rightly said it’s a ‘do nothing’ stay. The cottages are well equipped, service is very good with excellent home-cooked food. All in all, it was a relaxing and unwinding experience!||Special mention of Kishen and his family - the caretakers, who were always available to attend to us - they made us feel welcome and valued!

★★★★★We stayed at TWA ten days back - Indian Aspen and Jackfruit. It was an awesome place. We had a great time.|Mr. Kishan and family took care of us so well. The yummy taste of kadabu, neeru dosa, plantain curry, etc. and the aroma of fresh vegetables still linger in our thoughts. This was the second time we were staying at TWA. We are all looking forward to visit again. The ambience is so peaceful and inviting that we do not even think of moving out. Unforgettable morning walks among woods.||I just hope the management of TWA could maintain the greenery and wildness in the ambience. We are already seeing some construction is going on in the neighborhood. Please strive to maintain the wonderful ambience, ecosystem, food, and hospitality. Thank you, TWA. With love, Hari

NillThe place is very secluded unlike other resorts in Coorg that have a commercial feel. The entire property has only three guest rooms and the rest is greenery. This makes it very unique. You can hear the insects and birds all day and all night long. It will take a day for first timers to get used to the rustic ambience, so plan for slightly longer stays to fully enjoy this property. As other users have mentioned, hosts Kishan and his wife Uma were such wonderful people who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

★★★★★A holiday at Three Wooded Acres was in our agenda for March 2020, but thanks to the spanner thrown in the works by Covid, we had to postpone all plans until later. With things seeming to ease, we took the opportunity of leaving home after many lockdowns to spend a few days in October. ||||Three Wooded Acres is the fourth Linger property we were visiting and it lived up to the growing expectations we had gotten accustomed to when it comes to visiting a Linger managed home. Though simple and basic, their standards are pretty high when it comes to comfort, cleanliness and food.||||The property, around 10 KMs from Madikeri, is tucked away nicely in a coffee plantation, well hidden under the tall trees around. The sound of flowing water at the Kootu Poley dam marks your exit from the beaten path to the less trodden road which leads to TWA. This road itself would be a good walk early in the mornings and in the evenings, where you just listen to the calls of birds and listen to the noise of the insects (not to mention the occasional smell of Elephant dung).||||We were invited to our rooms by the chirping of the Cicadas located in the trees outside. Though we found it loud initially, you realize that it adds to the natural ambience of the place. Surprisingly (and thankfully), they seem to be active only during the day. ||||Visiting after the effects of Covid left some apprehensions on how safe the place would be but we were assured that cottages were isolated for a couple of days after each guest checked out. Subsequent to this, they were cleaned before being allocated to other guests. The room (as always with any Linger property) was spic and span with a clean loo. The air in the room smelt of an oil based incense, giving a warm feeling to the whole place. ||||Accommodation is through two cottages, one that is slightly isolated and private in a corner of the property with a single room and another that houses two rooms with an attic space, named Indian Aspen and Jack Fruit. We chose, rather, were recommended Indian Aspen. It did not disappoint. ||||An area between the two rooms doubles up as a laid back lounge with a small library holding some interesting books on the Western Ghats and some board games. More importantly, it’s spacious enough to seat guests of both rooms comfortably. In addition to this, each room also gets another dedicated sit out.||||Whoever thought of the attic space is a genius. It can comfortably sleep two adults, gets cozy and warm in the evening, complimenting the cold weather outside. Needless to say, this was the preferred location for the kids to set up base for the four days we were here.||||Food is served in the dining area that also serves as the quarters for the (excellent) caretaker host, Kishan and his family. Dining area is in an open space overlooking the trees which enables you to spot many birds flying around. In fact, the small open space around this building serves as a very good surrounding for bird spotting. Food served is mostly local Malnad cuisine with a mix of few dishes from Mangalore and Udupi. It’s always served hot, Kishan quickly sets up things after you’ve arrived at the dining are to ensure that the food is always hot. He also checks on your preference for the next meal and tries to keep variety in the food that is served. In the four days we were there, we didn’t have any course that was repeated. There was enough choice!||||The area around TWA has a lot of options for hikes and walks, but given the effects of the pandemic, locals were not very enthusiastic about movement of visitors and hence most of these were closed.|| ||Nevertheless, the property has much to give if you are the type who enjoys listening to the sounds of nature while doing nothing or just reading a book. ||||We enjoyed the time at TWA and we look forward to going back sometime. Our children, aged 10 and 7, took an instant liking to watching and spotting birds. The small booklets giving an idea of the trees and birds around was very helpful towards this.||||One rainy evening, seated in the rocking chair reading a book, I fell asleep in the silence of the surrounding. I woke up to a periodic, unusual chattering and fluttering noise. Upon opening my eyes, right there, in front me, perched on the tree was a Malabar Grey Hornbill. I couldn’t spot it immediately, but their movement helped and it was not just one but a whole clan of 5 or 6, fluttering around in the trees! They hung around for a few minutes flying about while we watched them in awe. A priceless feeling and memory to take away after a good break from the mundane routine.||||Some points, if you’re considering a trip up there||* Carry a binocular (I did and it helped)||* Carry torch lights to enable movement outside after dark. ||* It’s a small hike to the cottage from the parking space. It would be easy if you pack light and reach there early, before dusk.

★★★★In true sense rooms/cottages are amidst the woods. In between the coffee plantation they have maintained other spices trees, climber etc. Lush green. ||Care taker is a nice person and was prompt in service. Since it was during Covid times there was scanty of staff, yet the person (i think Krishna) along with his wife made sure to serve us with authentic Coorg delicacies.||Neat and clean rooms. Overall enjoyed the stay.
