Mary and Patrick are really friendly, they make a fantastic breakfast. The best thing about this Homestay is the location, 10-15 min walk to bars and restaurants. They are also able to book attractions for a good rate. Patrick was very kind to clean our room during our stay. The Homestay is located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood.

We spent a week at Heavenly Homestay at the start of this month (February 2025). Patrick and Mary are fantastic hosts. Patrick arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport, which is recommended as it meant we could jump in the car and go, rather than having to find a taxi after getting off a 10 hour flight. Patrick is more than happy to help arrange visits, tours and entertainment (Kathakali is a must!) and Mary is an incredible cook. We loved her omelettes and appam with coconut milk. |The rooms are spacious and clean. Ours had an ensuite with hot shower, air con and a ceiling fan, and a small balcony which was nice for sitting and listening to the birds. There is very good WiFi signal. Patrick is a keen gardener and there are beautiful plants everywhere. We were able to do some washing on the roof and peg it out. Heavenly Homestay is only a short walk from the main area of the town where the shops and restaurants are situated. |We enjoyed:|Kathakali, meditation and indian classical music at the Great KV Kathakali centre; boating in the backwaters which Patrick arranged for us; shopping in Princess Street; an excellent meal every night no matter which restaurant we chose; riding around in tuk tuks and chai and toast for lunch at Loafers Corner Cafe. |A good tip: Don't withdraw cash at the bureau de change in the airport - we ended up paying 20% in fees and taxes. There are ATM machines in Fort Kochi which are much cheaper to use. |Thank you to Mary and Patrick for a wonderful stay. We hope to see you (and Duke the dog!) again!

If you are looking for a the experience of staying with a family, then this is a good option. However we didn’t find the homestay very welcoming and in need of some care and attention. Our room was airless, dingy and dusty and smelt strongly of disinfectant. This was improved by opening the brown curtains and windows -possible as good mosquito netting. The fridge was dirty and didn’t work. |Breakfasts were generous portions and needed to be taken at 9am (or 8am if you have a boat trip booked)|There were many plants which offered a jungle type of experience. The seating and atmosphere on the balcony was not very inviting.

We stayed at Heavenly Homestay for 7 nights and had a wonderful stay - would very highly recommend. The location is extremely good, the property is situated in a quiet, safe, residential area which is easy walking distance (5-10 mins) from all the shopping, restaurants and bars. The water metro is also an easy walk away. The facilities at Heavenly Homestay are excellent at the price point - it's a homestay not a 5 star hotel! Some of the fixtures and fittings are a little bit tired but all fine. Our room was clean & very well equipped with a comfortable bed, clean sheets/towels, AC, warm shower and drinking water. The WiFi is pretty fast and reliable. Patrick will clean the room on request during your stay. On the roof, there is a free to use laundry with a simple twin tub washer/spinner and ample washing lines. If you're backpacking, this is a big bonus. The hosts, Patrick and Mary are lovely people. They're warm and welcoming, but also take pride in their business and do a very professional job. Patrick is very helpful at organising things to do locally and makes sure you're getting a fair price. He is also able to arrange transport options at a fair price. He's a nice guy who you can trust. Mary does the breakfast each day - her cooking is absolutely fantastic, and she makes sure you get a proper feed to start the day! I particularly loved Mary's masala omelettes which I ended up asking for every day! My wife loved the Appam. Thank you for a great stay. Hope to come again one day!

Patrick and Mary were wonderful hosts! Communication before the stay was vey easy and they arranged the airport pickup for me. Patrick was very helpful with any information I needed, including booking a ticket to a Katakhali introduction, which I enjoyed. I was also allowed to walk my clothes on the rooftop.|The hostel is in a quiet side street and a 10 minute walk from the historic center. The room was clean with everything I needed, including a friendly dog napping outside.|Last but not least, Mary cooks excellent Kerala style breakfast that I enjoyed sharing with other guests while discussing the adventures of the day.|I highly recommend it and will come back if I return to Kochi one day.

Lovely hosts. Good breakfast with no spices as per request. Cozy clean and spacious room. The stay is very beautiful with lots of plants and greenery. The host is one sincere gardener as well. Host has lots of good recommendations. We checked out the restaurants and took backwaters boating upon recommendation and they were really good. Would definitely like to visit and stay there again.

Patrick and Mary are lovely people. You feel like part of the family during your stay. They are kind and helpful. A different style of breakfast is served each day. Our favourite was the potato dosa for which we now have the recipe. The accommodation is very convenient. Any minor difficulties were soon sorted out. We stayed 12 nights with our daughter.
