NillWe visited this homestay recently and our experience was quite lovely. Our stay was very comfortable. The host is very friendly and the place is calm and peaceful. Elephant camp, kathakali/kalari center, Periyar Tiger Reserve ticket booking... everything is within walking distance. Highly recommended for people travelling with family.

NillHighly recommend for a group of 8-9 ppl, we recently visited and our stay was very comfortable. Property owner Sebastien and Joshini were very kind and do not hesitate for a helping hand. Property was located just opposite to elephant camp and famous Kalaripet & Kathakali centre. Our stay was peaceful & we definitely look back to visit the property again in future.

NillThe rooms are good, but they don't have a proper parking facility. They don't fill up water in the room, if we ask for water, they fill in the pipe water and give it to us. They speak nicely, don't get into the services they provide, as they get a commission from each services outside this homestay. You always feel that someone is watching at you and you wont feel convenience of staying private.

★★★★★The hosts are very friendly. The hosts helped us in knowing at what time which activity will be effective and we enjoyed a really nice trip.||||This was my first time driving in a hill station and had some issues also. Mr.Bastin(Host) came to know this and made sure he took us to places in his own car, where we want to go and made my trip easier.||||This place is very near to Elephant camp which has lot of other activities too and also near to Periyar bus and boat ticket booking Counter from where we can board the bus, which will take us to Boat Ride in MullaiPeriyar Dam.||||The rooms are VERY CLEAN that my wife got impressed of the maintenance of the Homestay.||||For me it was like as if I went to my relative's house and had a very good time. Will definitely plan to go again.

NillFound this homestay through Airbnb. Its a amazing find. A great homestay option with three big rooms with attached restrooms. A dining hall, a living room with tv sofa and few extra beds. A feel good house in the first floor with a beautifu balcony of green garden. Very much satisfied with this homestay. You have all the facilities here. Best part is the service provided by the host. Thery were of great help to arrange anything requested. And also they came along with us to book the tickets for elephant ride, Kathakali and kalari shows. Location of this homestay is the BIG plus as all the visiting places are walkable from this house. There are many decent restaurants, coffee shops avaialble nearby. From the rooftop the elephant safari and the cultural activity place will be visible. A big thanks to the host doe their seevie with a smiley face. Her daughter Ameirah Mariam was so cute to invite us and we had a good time there. Highly recommended stay option in Thekkady for families or group of friends.

★★★★★We felt so much at home staying with Zac and Ramini in Kumily Village. They couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive. A heart warming experience of a genuine 'ordinary' family home. Ramani took so much trouble with our breakfasts and evening meals. We ate a great variety of good food and really enjoyed her cooking and our interesting conversations. They are very friendly and easy to get on with and were so helpful about what to do and where to go. I enjoyed going to a church service with Zac.||||We loved the location. It is a 15 minutes to walk into town or you can get a rickshaw but we positively liked staying in a friendly village community on the edge of town. We were really happy pottering around the immediate neighbourhood and discovering the local Hindu temple and mosque and church; talking to friendly neighbours (and being invited into 3 homes) and watching the 11 elephants being fed and washed at the end of their working day. We were very near the elephants and also the marshall arts display, the musical fountains display, the ‘Magic Show’, the Katakhali dancing and on the edge of the tribal reserve and near meadows with cattle grazing (they walked past our front door twice a day). ||||Our room was nice and freshly decorated, with a large comfortable bed and a modern efficient shower room. We really appreciated the extra space with outside steps up to our own front door. It’s the top floor of the house with 3 guest rooms, a big open plan sitting and dining room, a kitchenette with kettle and sink and a good selection of books (mostly English - including an excellent bird book). We also had the use of the rooftop which was a great bonus, with views over the village and the mountain behind (there was a dramatic forest fire one night). Maybe the the roof could be developed - a couple of comfortable chairs and a table? It was helpful to have a washing line on the roof.||||It was the perfect place for us to come 'home' to after our treks and boat trip in the Periyar Wildlife Reserve. Thanks to our tour operators 'Insider-Tours' / 'Calypso Adventures' for sending us there! We highly recommend it as a lovely experience of the warmth and hospitality of an Indian home and hope to visit them again one day.

★★★★★I stayed at Koshys on a school expedition. As a group leader it was excellent as all of the students were in their own self contained apartment whilst I stayed in the main family house. The accommodation was clean and perfect for our needs. The food was excellent, only surpassed by the generosity and kindness of our wonderful hosts, Zac and Daisy. A great homestay, which I would recommend to anyone visiting the area!

★★★★★We had a very refreshing time at the koshys homestay, we were welcomed with a passion fruit drink which indeed is a good refresher after a 4 hour commute. Zac and Ramani showed us our rooms and even informed us about the various attractions around kumily. The rooms were very clean and comfortable , Zac and Ramani were very accomodationg and flexible with the breakfast timings , we had early outings and they provided us breakfast as early as 6 am. If you are staying at Koshys one must do thing is to have dinner cooked by Ramani , very tasty and authentic Kerala food. All in all i would surely reccomend this place for anyone visiting thekkady and ill surely come back with out family.
