Aranya Homestay, Thekkady

One room for 1000. Bed is not good. But okey for your money. Morning balcony is there for one room. But nothing is visible due to trees. Hospitality is good. Even suggested good restaurants and helped to plan the day. Staying with family for peacefully and enjoy the surroundings.

Although the website information was a trifle misleading as we were expecting a lot more forest and views we were not at all dissapointed with this homestay. It was well located and just a short walk to the shops and restaurants.||As we were two couples we opted for the ground floor adjoining rooms with a small lounge/dining area in between. The rooms were very clean with white tiled floors as were the bathrooms - plenty of hot water. There was a power cut every night at 7pm for 1/2 hour but we were well prepared as a strong battery light was supplied.||The joy of staying here was in the charming family that owned it. They really looked after us well and were willing to please in every regard. The breakfasts (included in price) were delicious, so much so that we asked the mother to cook us a dinner of Traditional Keralan food on the last night there. It was really lovely food and everything was explained to us in detail.||This is not a 5 star establishment but great value for money at INR2000 or INR2500 and a great experience.

This the second time I stay here and I highly recommend this home stay. The family is very friendly, and helpful, the daughter speaks perfect English and can arrange anything for you. The mother makes the best food in Kerala honestly I have tried many places over the years and hers is the tops. Enjoy! The father is very friendly also.||The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean plus the nights are very calm in the midst of coffee plantations.||A very good address!

We stayed at Aranya for two nights. Both were very pleasant. The area is quiet and it is a lovely place to stay if you want to visit Periyar and its surroundings. The family is very helpful and nice and indeed, the mum's cooking is delicious (we had it both nights)! We would definitely go back if visiting Thekkady again.||||Claire and Scott

Nice Location, even the road to the home-stay is a little messy. parking is for a medium force traveler. Accommodation is good. Spacious One bedroom plus 2 other in the ground floor and one in the First floor with separate entrance. We traveled with Trawell Town and had a better experience.

Very nice place to stay, quite area, and friendly owners. Me and my Bombay friend stayed two nights and we felt SO GREAT!.It is NOT so closer to the town so you wont be affected by the traffic sounds. We are going back again and will stay there again. WE RECOMMEND this place for others if you love a great experience.

As the name itself indicate, the views from the place are very good. Clean rooms were given. The hotel staff was good and friendly. The accessibility to the place is a little remote though. But nice for a c=stay for a couple of days.

Rooms are good, but no hot water in taps on ground floor rooms. We have to take it from outside. Only Malayalam TV channels.
