Marari Sky Garden

One of the most beautiful place to stay in Allapy. Marari sky garden is a new but very comfortable clean and beautiful home stay. The couple Raja & Suda welcome you so nicely and give you a great feeling during the staying. I felt very good energy around me. Suda cook amazing kerala food- very helty and tasty. Raja is kind and helpful. I definitely will come again.

If your looking for a homestay where you will feel like a part of the family from the beginning - choose Marari Sky Garden. The hosts will take care of you like their family. The rooms was clean and had everything you needed. Ind the end we spend four days here. We had amazing home cooked dinner and breakfast every day. The beach is nearby and is very beautiful. Bikes are available all day because it's a short ride to the beach.

Marari Sky Garden' is a A/C home-stay located just 5 min away from the beautiful Marari Beach in Kerala. ||||It's bang next to National Highway (NH) 47 and walk-able from Mararikulam railway station (MRKM). I would like to comment how pleased we were with the service provided to us by Mr Sudhi & Mrs Sudarshana Rajan. During my trip in Jan 2017 we were fortunate enough to stay at their Home Stay as it was my first Home Stay Experience. I have stayed at many Hotels across India and have found most of them pretty good and the staff generally friendly. But really Hats off to the couple they are simply amazing nd warm people.The Food nd Hospitality no words nd also they made us part of their religious rituals also ... The home stay is walking distance from the Beach.. Even services like Houseboat nd Kerela Massage can be immediately arranged by Uncle nd Aunty..

If you are looking only for Kerala backwaters, you will probably go straight to a houseboat. But if you want to experience more than backwaters, then you must consider Marari Sky Garden. It gives you backwaters, Mararikulam beach, ancient Mararikulam Mahadeva temple, and a couple of historic churches, apart from pleasant walk-around roads (weather permitting).||||Like everyone else, we headed to Alleppey to have a houseboat experience. By law, all houseboats must be anchored to a jetty before 5pm. We did not like the idea of sleeping in a still houseboat surrounded by mosquitoes and mushy, foul-smelling stagnant waters. We found Marari Sky Garden by pure chance. It is not a hotel but a home of Raja and Sudha - a wonderful and hospitable couple. Sudha is a great cook - you can sample the Kerala cuisine the way it is had at homes. Their place is situated close to Kochi highway, so autorikshaws can be called within minutes, It is at a walking distance from the ancient Mahadeva temple - must see in the evening when the lamps are lit. The locals perform evening prayers with Chenda (drummer and cymbal group) accompaniment. A little further is the Mararikulam beach - a wide and clean expanse of sand and water. Not many people come to the beach so you can enjoy the evening without getting claustrophobic. About 20 km to the north, you have a nice and ancient church in Cherthala. We booked day trip on the houseboat, and they arranged the pick-up and drop-back to/fro the houseboat jetty. The railway station at Mararikulam is a very small and cute station surrounded by greenery and it is quite pleasant to sit there and watch trains go by.||||As I said, if you want only backwaters you won't come here. But then you would miss on many small things that matter.

Sky Garden is located roughly 3km from the beautiful Marari beach. Although you'll find other places closed to the sea, your hosts will more than make up for it with their hospitality.||We stayed 2 nights and from as soon as we got there we felt like part of the family.||You can choose to eat in the house and believe me the food is excellent and reasonably priced, or you can get a tuk tuk or walk roughly 1km where there are plenty of shops and some places to eat.||The WiFi is decent and once you've finished a day at the beach or at the backwaters of Allapey there is a lovely terraced area for you to sit, enjoy a beer and watch the world pass by.||We had a day on the backwaters organised at R's1,250 per person and it was brilliant. All that we had hoped for.||The room was very clean, simple and air conditioning is an option. Got a really good nights sleep both nights.||Definitely would recommend and hope to come back one day. This place is wonderful if you are looking for a homely place and wants to get to know more about Indians' way of living. The host family, Sudhi and Sudha, is so warm and welcoming and will do anything for you to feel comfortable.||The rooms is great too. Very clean and comfortable! ||If you decides to stay make sure to have dinner - Sudha cooks amazing indian food!||I would highly recommend this homestay :-)

Nice location, 3km from Marari beach.. rooms are small but tidy.. Rajan uncle is very friendly and helpful.. We had dinner and breakfast prepared at their home itself.. it was very tasty. Don't miss that..
