The Boho County, Varkala Cliff - Best affordable rooms in varkala cliff

We have booked 1 AC and 1 non AC rooms for 4000 rupees, but the facility didn't have power back up and very minimal facilities for the price. We faced a blackout during the night and it was not at all pleasant. The waste management was concerning as dogs were roaming around and causing disturbance at night. Not recommended for family travelling with little kids.

We booked boho County by looking at the great Google reviews and affordable prices but our experience was very poor. First of all the property doesn't look at all like how it is advertised on internet and owner is just not a nice person. He tried to take extra money from us at every chance he got. The rooms were not clean and even after several requests it took them 5 hours to clean out rooms. The property is not sea facing and the view from our room was that of a road and we were promised a sea facing property. Do not book this property.

Great rooms for the price. (I took the regular AC room with the balcony) Pros: The location is great, very close to the cliff, just behind Darjeeling Cafe. It’s located at the centre of the cliff, which makes both ends of the cliff easily accessible. The host was very friendly and welcoming and provided good service. The rooms were clean and they provided all the basic amenities like drinking water, Wi-Fi, washing machine, room service etc. Cons: The noise, sound proofing is bad. It gets a bit noisy at night due to Darjeeling Cafe, especially during the weekends when the cliff is bustling with tourists and also because of some barking dogs at night. Apart from that it's a great place to stay at the cliff for the price.

I would not recommend this hotel if you are travelling with family or for vacation. Looking at the review, we booked for 3 Adult and we paid 4900 for same. What we got for the price was a shaudy room which was small and not at all well kept. The room had no drinking water or kettle. We checked for additional bed and what we got was a hand woven mattress and we were asked to use floor as they don't provide cots. The state was that we had to leave the hotel and booked Clafauti for half the price and 100 times better than Boho County Book only, if you don't have anything descent to stay at Varkala

If there was an option of giving no stars then I would have opted for one. One of the worst kept rooms. The bathroom had no hot water . The floors were dirty. Had lizards. No bed sheets. There were huge craters on the walls that were covered with sponge sheets. The person at the reception was useless. He had no idea of the places around. Whatever asked he replied with a I don’t know. The final price also was increased without intimation.. paying 6k for two nights for such a low class room is useless.

Looking at the last few ratings I was hesitant staying there.But as that was the peak season,I got room only there. I just want to say even though I can understand during peak season good location rooms are hard to get,but that can not be the reason behind this pathetic maintained rooms. JUST look at the pictures,basic amenities are missing in this hotel even though I paid about 3500 per night. Mirror is missing above basin,one small mirror is kept in the room to fill up need. For ventilation purpose there is no meaning of keep gap in the wall,as insects are coming in the room. The Bathroom rack is broken and they seem to forget about it. I have talked with hitinlal and Anandu, and they seem know about it all.. But it seems Club Catalyst Resorts and Properties doesn't care about maintaining it..

Only the property's location makes it stay worthy. If you look for a room in advance you will get far better ones at a lower price range. Very basic amenities like soap, toothpaste, blankets, hot water for shower, drinking water none of these were provided. They don't even have a reception for easy contact. You need to make multiple phone calls for every single thing. A single king size bed was provided when the room was booked for 4 people. A single mattress was provided after multiple requests, with neither enough space for it, nor the mattress covers. A separate heating coil was provided when asked for hot water. You need to fill water in a bucket and heat it in the room as there is no switch board in the washroom. This also caused current tripping after which even using heating coil was restricted.

Do not book this place, the owner is a cheat. They advertise it as a sea facing property but it is a not a sea facing property and owner will try and dupe you every chance they get. Rooms smell like dead fish, cleaniless is not there and they have a road going through their property so you would not get any privacy at all.
