Absolutely loved the short getaway to Annapara, we stayed in the family suit and it was spacious and comfortable with a great view. It’s a well thought out property, not too far from town, yet tucked away enough to enjoy being in nature. Praveen and Shibu plus the kitchen staff go out of their way to show you the best of Keralite hospitality, with simple, superlative food. Go for a trek, cool off in the pool, eat, snooze on hammocks, stare at the hills and rejuvenate, that’s the Annapara experience for you! What’s not to love!

This place is an experience ! Location is simply mind blowing and we enjoyed the drive up the secluded path. It’s off grid so the electricity is rationed because they are on a very small generator and you cannot use any high power appliances (kettle, hair dryer etc) , this place is made if you want to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of modern city life and just relax. Pool area is nice and secluded. Food is local style and simply delicious but a tad bit expensive at ₹600 per head for what’s offered (it’s more vegetarian fanfare with only one type of chicken as the non vegetarian option). Don’t visit this place expecting star luxury. Visit only if you can respect what they offer ; old world charm , family like hospitality and absolute peace of mind. I must add they are pet friendly and our little fella enjoyed exploring the place. Everything is spic and span so do contribute in respecting that by maintaining the same. Clean towels, 24 hour boiler hot water , clean room and toilets , thanks to Mr. Praveen and team we had an incredible stay. Can’t wait to visit again. Only addition I can recommend is to brick up the walls near the kitchenette as the current setup you can hear the next door rooms very clearly compromising privacy.

The location is great. It’s in the middle of the plantation away from civilisation. You can go for a nature walk with them into the estate. The old plantation workers bungalows have been remodelled into a homestay. Hospitality was great. Ambience was breath taking. The hammocks , the pool, the silence, breathtaking view of starry night it all worked for us. The food was spicy for our taste on day 1 but was adjusted to our liking the next day. The only thing I felt is the price which was a little steep. Ps: carry your own alcohol because the nearest liquor store is 15km away .

We- me, my wife and pet dog had been looking for a place to stay in Wayanad for a while. The pictures of Annapara homestay looked very calm, relaxing and in the midst of nature so we booked it. The cost was Rs. 7200 per night with just breakfast. When we reached there we found that the room fan was barely moving and making a loud noise. We spoke with the staff and requested them to get it fixed. That didn't happen at all. They did give us a table fan instead. The area is well made, great aesthetics and the pool is also nice, even though it is full of algae and frogs, tadpoles... it is meant to be a natural pool. My main problem with Annapara was the quality of food. When we travel to homestays we actually look forward to the food as it is mind blowing. I've had huge spreads of amazing food at most places and this was a big let down. They served us very basic or below average home food. And even the number of dishes was very limited in each meal. While Kerala cuisine is something we love, we got a very generic tasting food. So we opted to drive 20 means and get food packed from the town nearby. Plus the coffee was terrible as it is made in the same water in which they boil a herb to make it healthy. So while you're in the middle of coffee plantations, you get really bad coffee to drink. And it's not even filter coffee. For this cost, the rooms are not in great shape, the lights and fans are an issue and the food is definitely not worth it. What is nice is the location and atmosphere and the two guys running the place are sweet and helpful.

Many thanks to Zafar Salim (host & owner) and his team (including Shibu & Praveen - two of the most efficient, able and most amicable hosts) for the lovely stay! ||||My friends and I stayed here for 2 nights this week (November 2022).||||In many ways, this was the most rejuvenating and enjoyable experience till date.||||ACCOMMODATION:||The quality of the accommodation was truly excellent. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. ||We also loved the fact that each room is clearly customised and tastefully decorated giving it a rustic and truly vintage effect that reflect a unique style that is quintessentially Zafar. ||The quality of the bed/mattress is also very good, ensuring a comfortable, good night's sleep.||Each room comes with its own bathroom and hot shower including basic toiletries, towels and bathmats. Excellent location of the cottages promise you spectacular views while you sip on your tea or coffee in the verandah.||||FOOD:||The homecooked food has always been EXCELLENT and more so this time. The hosts are very receptive and ensure that your wishes are accepted in terms of food choice and preferences cooked with a very refined, delicate and balanced diet of Pure Vegetarian, seafood and poultry.||||HOSPITALITY:||Zafar (owner- happen to be there) and his trusted and friendly lieutenants - Shibu & Praveen's hospitality made a huge difference: welcoming, warm, generous and very real. ||Their knowedge of their place, the habitat and surroundings relaxes you more and that's when you know that you are in good hands.||||LOCATION:||tucked into the wilderness of Wayanad and perched on top of a hillock is Anapara, this place is a little haven devoid of the constant hooting and tooting of any traffic. Awesome views all around with plenty of greenery, chirping of birds and beautifully lit night sky.||Outdoors and we were thrilled both because of the pleasant weather and the greenery stretching as far as the eye can see with a view of the hills nearby and the vast stretch of tea gardens, waterfalls and scenic beauty. ||Absolute delight for both the relaxed and the adventurer (with an abundance of activities close by)||||If we ever return to Waynad (we intend to), we will most definitely return to ANNAPARA HOME STAY!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I’m moved to write about my visit because it was just lovely! I visited Annapara at the end of July. It had been raining nonstop the previous few days and continued on for the first two of my three day stay. That was a treat! I was with a good old friend that I hadn’t met for years. The rain lulled us into a peaceful, nostalgic mind space perfect for catching up on each other’s lives. We sat on the porch sipping hot water boiled with a special herb that helped keep us healthy in the monsoon wet atmosphere. It made the water pink and tasted faintly like sarsaparilla. Annapara was full of special touches like this. We stayed in the newer guest cottage designed perfectly in keeping with the concept of using local materials. Roughly hewn granite columns, red terracotta roof and floor tiles with skylights, generous verandahs, interesting layout of space in the room, an extra loft bedroom…and some of the rooms were the original homes of the tea pickers that had worked on the tea and coffee estates, renovated to very comfortable contemporary standards. The friendly and hospitable staff took good care of us, from answering questions, taking us out for walks in the rain with umbrellas (they really wanted us to see the waterfall, but we decided to stay home), showing us tea and coffee shrubs and pepper vines to providing the most wonderful, authentic and delicious Kerala cuisine.. Some delicacies were served freshly steamed in banana leaves. We were curious about the preparation and were lucky enough to get a quick demo in the rustic kitchen. The layout of Annapara was rambling. We discovered a small amphitheater, a blue tiled tranquil pool that is fed by a waterfall (it overflows into a stream), a relaxing area with hammocks, mango trees that had just been harvested a month before, a badminton court and a fire pit on the way to the dining pavilion. After a meal, we sat on the family size swings, sipping strong local filter coffee and feeling ourselves relax and unwind. No sounds but the chitter of birds, the dripping of water from leaves, and an occasional car in the distance. No smells but wet earth and lush vegetation. There was decent wifi, so we did not feel totally cut off. And no mosquitoes! This was a lovely place to spend a few quiet days reconnecting with nature, my friend and myself. I would love to go back and spend a few days again soon. I would take a friend, a book…or I would write one, at a place like this.

Came in on 29th April. Saw the place. Beautiful scenery and lovely people like shibhu and praveen. Kind and caring for the people. Pet friendly place. Breakfast is really good. Have a badminton court and a swimming pool that is filled by a river but is purified and keeps flowing to the plants. They also have a 2 to 3 cycles. Many restaurants nearby. They also take us for a walk to the tea factory if you ask them to. Would love coming here again.

Just loved this place. Annapara is a very nice property, location bang on and above all the people Shibu and Praveen. The food prepared by Ambili is awesome. We initially stayed at this place for two days on our Wayanad trip , went to another resort and then came back to Annapara for a day before descending to the city. Surrounded by tea plantations this place is just beautiful. Non nonsence clean place. Would definately recommend this place to those to want to enjoy the beauty of Wayanad.
