The Sherpas Abode

Our stay at Serpa's Abode was truly memorable. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. The owner Nima uncle and aunt and their son and daughter-in-law were extremely kind, polite and always ready to help with a smile. The staffs are also very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and cozy with a beautiful mountain view balcony. The atmosphere was really calm and relaxing. It's perfect for a break from the city. The meals cooked by aunt were absolutely delicious and we never forget the taste of the local beverage Tonga. Thank you aunt !! I'd highly recommend this homestay to anyone who wants a cozy, homely stay with excellent service and food.

Sherpa’s Abode in Gangtok was one of the most heartwarming stays we’ve ever had. The home itself is cozy, spotless, and beautifully designed, with a breathtaking view from the balcony that makes you want to just sit and soak in the mountains for hours. The real gem, though, is the owner—Uncle. He was incredibly friendly, loving, and treated us like family. His warmth made the stay unforgettable. He even called us after we checked out just to make sure we reached our next destination safely—such a rare and thoughtful gesture. The food was another highlight—completely home-cooked, wholesome, and delicious. Breakfast usually had boiled eggs, bananas, and warm parathas—simple, filling, and made with love. One of our favorites at dinner was a unique dish made with sprouted fenugreek—so tasty and nourishing! The staff were also very polite and attentive, making sure we felt at home throughout. If you're looking for peaceful vibes, great food, stunning views, and genuine hospitality, Sherpa’s Abode is the perfect spot. Can’t wait to go back!

We stayed here for two days with my 4year old daughter. The service was child friendly and the food was mouth watering. The owners and their hospitality was unmatchable. Highly recommended for everyone who wants a peaceful atmosphere in mountains.

The sherpa's abode we choose after seeing the reviews on Google, booking.com when we booked the hotel uncle Nima also arranged cab services for us from njp. The welcome in sherpa's abode was very nice. The food is prepared by hotel staff here, it is extremely delicious 😋 just as home food. The breakfast is very very delicious. Just one point, even if it is far from mg marg, it has the best view i think so the best view of any hotels in gangtok. Uncle is very kind and helpful. I would love to recommend this hotel to everyone. I have never felt such a nice and homely stay ever that sherpa's abode has given us. Thank you so much for ur service. We would love to visit you soon.

We stayed for 2 days in Sherpa's Abode , it's more like visiting our another relative. The hospitality,food ,rooms are all top class. With all these Pros only Cons we felt was , the access from road has 20-25 steps, for young and middle age it's not a issue. But for elderly,they find it difficult, we had 2 people 70+. Other than this every thing was good. Will definitely recommend it , for the food and hospitality

I had a very good experience while staying in The Sherpas Abode. The rooms were great, the food was so good and the hospitality was the best part of the sherpas abode. I would say that my whole gangtok trip was accelerated only because of this homestay. They were in constant communication with me and the stay had so many connections with other packages and site seeing packages that they were able to arrange a small discount. This homestay is an absolute package. They suggest everything right from the travel ,food to eat as well as the places to visit. I would recommend everyone to stay at this homestay if you are coming to gangtok because they deserve every support and recognition. Will definitely visit again soon there.

Stayed at Sherpa's Abode during last month. What a cordial reception!. The stay is like a honeyed jack fruit arils. Utterly butterfly smooth and sweet. Entry and exit are like jack fruit spines especially for elders and slightly unclean. However, this trivial difficulty disappears when you enter the Abode due to their personal touch and comfort level. Mr Sherpa can also organise travel plans and suitable vehicles which we did not try. Excellent stay. Thanks.

Sherpa's Abode, Gangtok: Me and my wife stayed at this property for almost a week, around end March-2025. The room was very comfortable, clean and with all the facilities and a strong wi-fi. A big attached balcony led to a breathtaking view of the valley. The Host couple, who are the owners are highly hospitable, caring. A variety of hot, home cooked food they served was tasty and yummy. And it was nit heavy on the pockt. All in all it was a memorable stay.
