Family/ Holiday/ Friends I had a wonderful experience at Orchid Home Stay. It’s a peaceful place located close to the main area, yet calm enough to truly relax and take good rest. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, making it feel just like home. A special thanks to Mr. Rajan Anna, who maintains the property so well and ensures every guest feels comfortable. I stayed here alone with my two kids, and he took great care of us throughout our stay. From check-in to check-out, his support made me feel completely relaxed and at ease. The homemade food he prepared was fresh, delicious, and truly felt like home-cooked meals. The property also has a lovely balcony, a kids’ play area, and is surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants, adding to its charm. If you are looking for a place to unwind and rejuvenate, I would highly recommend Orchid Home Stay. It is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a homely atmosphere.

This stay felt almost like a homestay, yet with luxurious building elements. It’s complemented by a neat lawn and a small play area for kids right at the entrance, along with most amenities a family would typically look for. One of the standout features is the beautiful garden filled with various flowers and plants (resonating its name) — a real highlight of the property. Overall, our experience was really good. That said, there were a couple of challenges worth noting: 1. Booking Confusion via Agoda: The check-in time was incorrectly listed as 12:00 AM to 3:00 PM, which caused some confusion and inconvenience — particularly since we were traveling with our toddler. Fortunately, the manager and staff were very cooperative and made accommodations to help us settle in comfortably. 2. Approach Road: The route suggested by Google Maps involves a steep downhill path, which may not be suitable for most 2WD vehicles — perhaps only manageable by a 4WD. However, there is an alternate route that requires just about 300 meters of extra travel, so it’s not a major concern. Once we figured this out, it didn’t affect our stay experience.

We stayed at this roomstay house, and it truly felt like our own home. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and very comfortable. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and Wi-Fi was available, which made our stay even smoother. The service was excellent—special thanks to the host who personally cooked dinner and breakfast for us. He prepared whatever we recommended, and the food tasted just like homemade meals. It was a very thoughtful and personal touch. The only small issue was a bit of confusion in finding the location, but once we arrived, everything else was perfect. I recently had the pleasure of staying for three nights at The Orchid Gardens in Kodaikanal, and it was an experience that beautifully combined comfort, hospitality, and warm personal touches. The property itself is nestled amidst lush greenery, offering a peaceful retreat away from the usual tourist bustle. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with just the right balance of modern amenities and homely charm. Waking up to the cool Kodaikanal breeze and the serene garden views each morning was refreshing and memorable. A special mention must go to Chef Rajan, whose culinary skills truly elevated our stay. Every meal he prepared was delicious, thoughtfully crafted, and catered perfectly to our preferences. From authentic South Indian flavors to hearty comfort food, he brought variety and care to the dining table each day. His passion for cooking clearly shines through in every dish. Equally commendable is the effort of the housemaid, who ensured that the rooms and common areas were spotless and welcoming. She was attentive, polite, and worked quietly in the background to make sure everything felt just right. Her dedication made the stay smooth and comfortable. Overall, The Orchid Gardens is not just a place to stay but an experience shaped by its people. With its tranquil setting, excellent service, and warm hospitality from both Chef Rajan and the housemaid, it felt less like a hotel and more like a home away from home. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kodaikanal!

Nice experience very clean and good service with super food(veg and non-veg) and our kids really enjoyed well in play area. Mr.Rajan who took care of us, we felt very safe and happy.

The first thing that truly stood out to us was the wonderful hospitality. Mr. Rajan, the caretaker, was incredibly warm, kind, and attentive throughout our stay. He prepared delicious home-cooked meals, even accommodating our request for a less spicy version for the kids, which we really appreciated. Another helper was also around and equally friendly and helpful. The homestay itself was spotlessly clean and tastefully minimal, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. We especially loved the balcony adorned with beautiful, well-maintained flowers — such a lovely touch! As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed both the stay and the food. A big heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our experience so memorable!

Awesome rooms. So close to town. Very good housekeeping. The compound is very beautiful. Food is quite good.Really good cooking. Lots of open area, for camp fire and such events. The road to the House is a little too bad for cars. Dont take the steep road down. Come around the house, its much better.

I would say this is one of the best property to stay in Kodaikanal !! We were a family of two with our infant and we really felt very safe here !! This property has four rooms in total and can be also booked as a whole villa if you are a friends gang or a big family .Its located in the center of the city yet a serene location which is a rare find for sure!! The rooms upkeep was very impressive and hygiene of the rooms where top notch .This place has a big lawn area,Kids play area ,dedicated camp fire place and last but not the least a dedicated big parking space inside the property itself!! Mr.Rajan who is the caretaker and cook at this place is gem of a person and his approach twoards guests is really friendly and we had food for all the days during our stay here and he cooks with uttermost care and exceptional taste just like home made food !! Free Wifi is available here at best speeds!! The balcony is a shared one if you are booking an individual room . The only con here i would say is that they charge 1300Rs/- for campfire which felt a bit too high ,Anyways that is justifiable if you are booking a whole villa with your friends or family !! On the whole at this competitive budget i would recommend this place 100%.Just go for it !!
