Enjoyed our stay here. Home like feel and care by the caretaker. Spacious and clean rooms. Food prepared by Cook was nice. We had camp fire outside after dinner which we enjoyed. Overall a good and warm experience. Will come and stay again

It is indeed a lovely place to spend some quality time with your loved ones. Mr.Shaheed was very helpful right from the start. He made the process a lot more easier for us. The homestay provided us lot of privacy. we actually felt totally at home. The rooms and bathrooms were neat and well maintained. All the caretakers were very helpful. and we totally enjoyed the food served to us at the homestay. They made food according to our taste and needs. one should definitely try the malabar fish curry there and also the chicken gravies. The gardens with sit outs were nice to relax and enjoy the climate. they arranged us bon fire and barbecue on request which we thoroughly enjoyed. there is water heater 24*7. one small tip is that, if you are opting for extra beds, you gotta carry your own blanket for the safer side.

The place is located within 1 km of Kodai lake. We stayed in an independent room with attached bathroom. Room was spacious and clean. The place has enough opena rea for children to play and you can enjoy nice outdoor sitting as well. Very good homemade food and you would tend to over eat! Owner is cordial and service is good. Recommended if you are looking for few days of relaxed stay at homely atmosphere.

We had a great time at this quaint and charming old English bungalow. Made our stay at Kodaikanal all the more memorable. The view from the garden is amazing; rooms are clean and comfortable, and we loved the breakfasts! (The chef, Mr Darryl, makes excellent dosas and sambar). Great work, Mr Shaheed! We look forward to visiting again some time soon.

Stayed here for three nights in the independent cottage. The stay was good and comfortable. However, the pricing was not reflecting the amenities. We had a cracked toilet and carpets which needed replacement. The most difficult part was the food. Breakfast was complementary and was ok. We ordered dinner for one night and it was horrible. A chappathi was priced at Rs.20 and chicken curry and fried chicken at 150 for meagre quantities.

Don't fall just by seeing photos/scenery. Its expensive place to stay. Its a kind of old English Bungalow which has plenty of spacious rooms. But its really badly maintained with unclean, smelly rooms/bedsheets etc. If you are even slightly allergic to dust/bad smell, the stay here will spoil your entire trip. Service people are nice when it comes to behaviour but when it comes to professionalism. Overall, it could have been nice place if properly maintained or cleaned. Its an expensive place and the stay would NOT justify the price for sure.

Stayed on 25th Dec 2016 - We went to Dalethrope Bungalow after reading all the glowing reviews on different Websites. As we were 4 adults and a child, we wanted two rooms. We were told that at present they have a suite room available in which they will accommodate all of us and from 26th Dec onwards they will give us two standard rooms. Suite room was at INR 4,000 and we were charged INR 1,000 extra for two more people. Standard room was at INR 2,500 per room per day.||||We reached the property with very high hopes based on all the glowing reviews we have read. This property is situated on main road which makes it noisey. To summarize our stay in one line - it was bad. Suite room was very dirty with coat of dust all over. Small carpets in outer room and bedroom looked as if they have never been dusted. They were dirtier than the doormats. Room was mouldy. As we were four people, they were supposed to make arrangements for 2 people more in the room. The mattress they provided was so lumpy and dirty that you would not even like to touch it. Mattress was thin like a mat and we were not even given anything to put that mattress on. It was directly on floor. We requested for extra blankets for two people and what we got was so thin and dirty, it was hopeless. ||||We requested again for one more blanket. They gave us a little better one but asked us to return the one they gave before. It was so cold that even two blankets were not enough and they simply told us that they do not have any extra ones so we have to manage. When we asked why such bad condition of the property, they told us that we are only leasing it which has to be renewed every year. Why to invest in the property if our lease is not renewed. ||||We were shocked to hear that. We are paying INR 5,000 a night and they are giving this as reason for keeping place in bad shape. There is no privacy in this bungalow. They have around 7 rooms and have made it in such a way that all the guests have same common area. ||||Breakfast they include in their price is very basic and taste was just make do. Dining area is just four chairs around a small round table in a corner and you have to wait your turn for that. You get choice between Idly and plain dosa. We have stayed in some really good heritage properties in Ooty and Munnar but Dalethrope is highly overrated. It is a very badly managed property with an expensive price tag. ||||After suffering a really cold night literally on floor we checked out very next day. ||We will never recommend this place to anyone. It is a sheer wastage of money if you are staying at this place and great experience they promised never even started.

It's a nice budget homely stay. I loved their game room where we could enjoy with the family, they had books, carrom, playing cards.. The rooms can be improved a little, but they are good as per the budget. The view is amazing They also have a court where u can play badminton
