The first thing you notice upon arrival is the quiet beauty of the surroundings. The property is surrounded by sprawling tea plantations, and if you're lucky, you might spot bison roaming nearby, adding to the wilderness charm. The landscape is dotted with Jacaranda trees, making the view from your balcony feel like a postcard come to life. Each of the four rooms is neat, well-maintained, and spacious, with attached bathrooms and private balconies offering uninterrupted valley views. Whether you're a couple, a family, or a large group (it can comfortably accommodate up to 12-16 people), the space offers everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay. What truly sets Tahr Retreat apart is the incredible hospitality. The caretaker, Manish, was always on hand and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. From arranging local sightseeing recommendations to bringing us delicious meals when we couldn't go out at night, he made sure we felt completely cared for. His warmth and willingness to help at any time made us feel right at home. The housekeeping couple, Amit and his wife, were equally wonderful. They ensured the property remained spotless and even assisted in the kitchen whenever we needed. Their friendly presence added to the homely vibe of the retreat. It honestly felt like we were staying at our own personal hill cottage. The garden area is well-kept, and the surroundings are perfect for a morning stroll or simply enjoying a cup of tea while soaking in the mountain air. The location offers complete privacy, which is a blessing for those looking to relax and unwind without any disturbances. Despite its secluded setting, the home is well-equipped with all necessary amenities. You won't feel like you're missing anything. It’s rare to find a place that offers both scenic beauty and comfort, but Tahr Retreat does just that. The experience was wholesome—from the cozy rooms to the stunning landscape, and above all, the heartfelt service from the hosts. We especially appreciated how thoughtful everyone was with our kids, even arranging for food late at night when stepping out wasn’t an option. This seems to be a new homestay which is away from the noise of city and yes it's deep inside but totally worth. The rooms were neat and clean. Hospitality also was great.
