Ooty dreams cottage

During our stay in Ooty, we had a deeply disappointing experience due to the behavior of one particular staff member. Right from the beginning, he was smoking and conversing with us in a manner that made several of our female friends uncomfortable. Despite being aware of their discomfort, he continued, which was highly inappropriate. The overall hygiene standards were poor—he entered guest rooms wearing slippers and handled arrangements in an unsanitary way. This place felt especially unsafe for women and for those unfamiliar with the local language, which adds to the discomfort and lack of accessibility. While the owner, Mr. Sudhakar, appears to be a kind and well-meaning individual, he only visits the property once or twice a day and may not be fully aware of how his staff behaves in his absence. We had reported the issue to him, and he assured us that the staff member would be removed. However, even after more than six months, no action seems to have been taken. I would not recommend this property, particularly for solo travelers or women, until there is a clear improvement in staff conduct and safety measures.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall service was excellent. Special thanks to Mr. Nasir from the staff, who was very helpful and attentive throughout my stay. His support made the experience even better. Highly recommended.

Overall Experience at BS Dreamz Ooty (Family Trip - April 2025) We stayed at BS Dreamz Ooty from April 13 to April 18, 2025, as a family with young children. Here is a detailed review of our experience: Location: The property is located on a high hill, about 4–5 kilometers from the main Ooty market. While the surrounding scenic beauty from the cottage is truly breathtaking and peaceful, it is important to note that having a personal vehicle is almost essential. Without your own transportation, commuting can be difficult and expensive. Accessibility: Both the car parking area and the cottages are situated on a steep slope. Climbing up and down multiple times a day was quite hectic and could be risky, especially for elderly guests and small children. This aspect should be carefully considered before booking. Staff and Service: The caretakers — a local husband and wife — are hardworking but primarily converse in the local language. Communication in Hindi or English can be challenging at times. During periods of high occupancy, they appeared overworked, and their behavior occasionally turned a bit impatient. There is no manager on-site. The owner, Mr. Sudhakar, handles decisions remotely over phone calls. Although he is polite and courteous, any urgent matters may get delayed depending on his availability. Food: Food is cooked by the caretaker lady and has a homely taste, which we appreciated. However, hygiene standards need considerable improvement, and overall food quality did not fully match the pricing. Also, if planning to order from outside platforms like Zomato, you must place your order between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM; otherwise, delivery options may become unavailable for that evening. Facilities: Hot water availability was limited and often required a special request, with long waiting times. Rooms do not have basic ventilation like an exhaust fan, ceiling fan, or air conditioning. While the weather outside was pleasant, the interiors sometimes became stuffy and uncomfortable. Cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms and surroundings were below expectations considering the rates charged. Booking Tip: It is advisable to explore direct offline booking options for a better deal, as prices quoted online seemed relatively higher compared to what you might negotiate directly. Final Thoughts: BS Dreamz Ooty offers a beautiful natural setting away from the city's hustle, ideal for those looking for solitude and scenic views. However, it requires improvements in service professionalism, facility management, and food hygiene to provide a more comfortable and satisfying stay for guests, especially for families traveling with young children. I booked with a free breakfast option which was seen on agoda ,after reaching the property the owner denied it telling we should pay for that additional.it was mistake on agoda they can't do anything.and right after the complaint they changed the free option to paid ,120 / head.we contact agoda and told the issue.agoda said we are eligible for free breakfast,but we didn't get the free breakfast. The rooms toilet vents were open to the pathway which was very uncomfortable to take a bath if u are going with ladies,
