I had an excellent experience staying at Sparrow House in Kumbakonam. The property is very neat, clean, and well-maintained, creating a peaceful and homely atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The rooms are spacious, hygienic, and thoughtfully arranged to ensure a comfortable stay. A special mention must be made of the owner, Mr. Babu, whose cooperative and friendly nature truly sets this homestay apart. He is always available to assist with any need—whether it’s local guidance, travel suggestions, or arranging necessities. His hospitality made us feel completely at home. Sparrow House is also conveniently located, making it easy to access temples and other attractions around Kumbakonam. Firstly owner of the property was responsive and guided us properly. They also helped with booking cab right from station pickup , temple tour, drop to station. Very courteous drivers and cab was also good condition. Care taker Valiamma what to say about her , she made delicious food and ensured we ate properly. And coming to the property it was amazing, very spacious, clean. Home away from home . This is the place we will stay whenever we visit Kumbakonam.

We had a wonderful family stay here. The place was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. My kids really enjoyed their time. The breakfast served was healthy and tasty, and even the kids loved it. We had a wonderful stay at this homestay. The property is very nice, clean, and beautifully maintained. The rooms are big, spacious, and extremely comfortable, giving a perfect home-like feeling. The entire place is well-kept, hygienic, and thoughtfully arranged. The location is also very good, easily accessible and close to all important spots, which made our travel very convenient. “The sparrow house” it is one such stay that I would recommend to anybody for stay in Kumbakonam. The host Babu sir, was so welcoming and was easily approachable. Travelling with an infant and their requirements are never ending, the stay was very comfortable. Valliamma their house help too was always available to provide us with anything we needed. Need to mention, their handmade food was yum. Simple Idli, Vada, Pongal, sambar and chutneys but tasted too good. Also to mention, this stay is quite close to temples in around areas. Thank you, The Sparrow house for hosting us. Will visit again with family or with friends.

I stayed here with my family during our Kumbakonam–Thanjavur trip, and our three-night stay was very comfortable. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the kitchen was well-equipped with all necessary utensils, allowing us to cook our own meals. The host and caretaker were also very helpful and responsive, making our stay even more pleasant.

What a warm, beautiful place with the kindest caretakers. They feed you like you’re one of their own. I travelled from Bangalore to Kumbakonam for temple visits, and honestly, it felt like my pilgrimage began the moment I arrived here.
