Bison Valley Estate

I would like to share my experience regarding my stay at this property. While the location of the bungalow is appealing, it unfortunately falls short in several important areas, especially for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing vacation. First and foremost, the lack of privacy was a major issue. When booking a bungalow for two people, we were given a room in an attached part of the property that lacked any real sense of privacy. The room was poorly soundproofed, and we could hear loud conversations and shouting from other guests in the main part of the bungalow. This disrupted the peace and quiet one would expect on a vacation. Additionally, the property had a mosquito problem that could easily be addressed with better screens or repellents. The bedsheets also had a strong urine smell, which suggested they may not have been properly cleaned. Another issue was that the doors did not close properly, which seemed to be a maintenance problem that needs attention. The owner's approach to customer service was also disappointing. Communication was poor, with the owner only sending voice messages when asked anything. He claimed to be traveling and unable to address our concerns, but it was later told to us by the caretakers that his son was leaving for abroad, which made him too busy to guide us or answer our questions. This felt like an excuse for not providing proper service. It was clear that the owner was more focused on making money than ensuring a positive experience for guests, and he didn’t even keep proper records of his reservations, which caused confusion. On a positive note, the caretakers at the property were exceptional. They were very kind, attentive, and did their best to make us feel comfortable. Their efforts were truly appreciated. Additionally, the food at the property was outstanding—some of the best we’ve had in a long time. It was very, very good and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. However, due to the lack of privacy, poor management, and overall lack of attention to customer care, I cannot recommend this property, especially for those seeking a peaceful, comfortable, and private vacation. Despite the excellent caretakers and food, it was a highly disappointing experience overall.

The ambience is fabulous. You can hear the tumbling sound of the river flowing through the rocks and also the birds sound in the morning. It was a very refreshing morning. The location where the Home Stay built is fantastic. You can enjoy nature and watch the upper sholayar dam from this location. I highly recommend it to those who travel with friends and family. Low budget stay.

Rooms are neat & clean. View from the resort is very nice. The staffs are quiet friendly & their service is appreciable. They serve homely tasty food on the basis of our choice. Night view of sholayar dam shutter from the resort is magical. We throughly enjoyed our stay in the resort.

Worst home stay in valaparai. Not suitable for family. The attender is fully drunk and the rooms are not clean. My advice don't go with family and not worth for money

One of the worst place to stay with family. we had cockroaches in the food. The blankets were smelly. No hot water. I don't know if they do it purposely. Morning they remove the fuse and they say there is no power. The owner stays there itself. In their room everything will work fine. I don't understand how that happens. We all had to take bath in cold water. Its a very bad place to stay with kids. They never reduce the charges even if we say we did not have hot water. The owner never even responds. They just ignore. We had a horrible experience. The worst part is, there were some people who vacated the room. They never changed the bed spread or blankets. They just folded and kept it for the next clients who were waiting to check in. The cups and plates are not washed properly. Very unhygienic and dirty place. Specially they don't wash the blankets or sheets. Strictly not recommended for family (especially with kids)

Located near the Upper Sholayar Dam, the homestay is situated amidst lush greenery. Sitting in the corridor, you are treated to stunning views of sunset over the distant peaks with peahens walking around near the property and jumping on the roof quite some times. The room and bathroom are very neat and clean, they have free wifi and a TV. The staff are very welcoming and attentive, prepare good, traditional food native to the area. Mornings also provide a relaxing vibe with the bulbuls chirping around. Highly recommended if you're looking for a homestay experience in this location. The place is quite far from Valparai (around 45 mins), so it is advisable to finish your visit there and then come here to relax.

Nice experience to stay. Have given 4stars for the room as the fan sounded a bit. Good hospitality , food is delicious and timely prepared . Location was awesome , you can see the dam shutter as well as the flowing river ....

Location, Services and Food get a thumbs up. Variety of birds you get to see in the morning and evening around 4.30 is to be experienced. Whispering falls within walkable distance is an added bonus. Vijay' s home style food rocks 🔥
