Fagunia Farmstay

Fagunia was truly an escape in the best possible way. The stay itself is super cozy and comfortable. Inspite of the cold outside the rooms were equipped and furnished to keep us warm. Every meal served was absolutely delicious. I love how they have incorporated local cuisine, because it can be boring to eat the same dishes that you get in the cities. Special thanks to Aditi and Anil for so thoroughly accommodating our every dietary requests. They are warm and engaging hosts who are very passionate about what they do. |The trials around the property are a huge bonus. We hiked almost every day around the stay and there was always something new to discover. |We will definitely visit here again for the hikes, for the food, the wood fired pizzas, endless game of scrabble and the comfort.|Big thanks to you both again, Anil and Aditi.

If there can be a homestay that can be called straight from fantasy lands, it is this. The forest road to stay has several waterstreams in its path. For a city person this feels like an instant relief from the chaos. Then once at stay one is happily pampered by amazing hosts: Anil and aditi, along with their good taste in interior decor, and an amazing valley view. They are also super undersanding towards, not only guests but also staff, and natural resources they use. Water usage is done judiciously, food wastage is minimal and there are several waste composts pits on site. Guests also need to take back their own dry waste which I felt is an amazing idea. Anil, aditi also took us around the village, we plucked fresh brinjal, beetroot from their farm and enjoyed fresh food. Everything about that Homestay makes one more grounded, humble and grateful to nature.

You can't get enough of Fagunia, the tranquil views of mountains, forest, birds and the night sky; the engaging and super fun activities of farming, trekking, pizza making and Scotch tasting; and above all the brilliant company of Aditi and Anil.|But most of all, what Fagunia is, is inspiration. Aditi and Anil's passion- their love and devotion to our planet is palpable AND contagious. |Thank you so much for opening your home and hearts and letting us have this slice of paradise; we will, we have to, we _gots_ to keep going back to Fagunia!

If I'm ever asked to imagine what paradise would look like, Fagunia is the only image that my mind can conjure. |Aditi and Anil's home is on a mountain nestled in the Himalayas so there's close to a 270 degrees view of beautiful mountain ranges; and the beauty is so dynamic it's almost as if it's alive; vibrant colored flowers, birds and mountains, pine trees with rustling leaves that make you feel as if you're next to a waterfall, small houses on the far off mountain slopes that light up in the night to seem as if somone stuck fireflies on a landscape and oh the amazing night sky.|We'd wake up to the chirping of birds and beautiful sunrise from behind the mountains, it was like a fairytale, the home is so cozy, warm and in some odd sense "loving" that you will want to hug it, give it a cuddle, each part of the home opens at a different angle brings in a new perspective of the scenery. ||The farm! I have never just plucked leaves, smelled and eaten them- beyond the flavours and the scent, it's the feeling of exhilaration, and oddly a sense of freedom, that's hard to explain.||And it comes with a waterfall...|I am so going back soon...||Thank you Aditi and Anil

A wonderful experience to say the least. A warm friendly couple who go the extra mile to make you comfortable. Delicious home cooked meals and by far the best Pizzas i have had to date.A serene ,peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle of city life.,just what you need to de stress and detox. A great place away from the main road (there is a dirt road to reach the place from the highway), and enjoy the best of nature - the view, the weather and the hospitality. The rooms are spacious and well kept. Simple and good food including Kumaoni cuisine. Bikram Singh, the owner, takes good care of everyone. This is a birder's paradise and a walk around the place is recommended for bird watching and understanding farm and village life. Have told them that we will be back...!

For a holiday getaway - the homestay launched by Anil Reddy of Andhra Pradesh and Aditi of Uttarakhand—built on a love for nature, a pollution-free setting, and organic farming—is rapidly heading toward great success. The three days spent here will remain unforgettable.||This environmentally minded couple is also making notable contributions to the nearby school as part of their social responsibility. In this glitter-filled age, the effort they have undertaken—small though it may be—is a meaningful step in the right direction.||The local cuisine they prepare, along with the service provided by the staff who work with them, is excellent as well.||I hope they continue their work with the same dedication. Fagunia is a delightful gem of a homestay, perched cozily on the side of the hill (yes, the location and the views are real!), with cute, comfortable rooms (including a fireplace!), meals cooked with love, passion and an extraordinary gastronomic profile, and the most discreetly brilliant hosts in Aditi and Anil.||||We spent four nights here and now have a trove of heartwarming memories and impressions:||||- sipping our morning tea and coffee, with a breathtaking, foggy valley beneath us;||||- glancing at the little blackboard in the dining area, several times a day, to preview the delights planned for lunch/dinner;||||- playing badminton in the lawns, while our toddler did her drawings;||||- getting lost trekking around the neighboring villages; ||||- ending 2024 with Tuscan style pizzas and wine, and a bonfire at night;||||- getting insights from our distinguished and talented hosts, from wildlife conservation to smoky single malts;||||- finding new corners in and around the property, to curl up with a book; ||||- sinking into the soft and yielding beds at night;||||- and so much more.||||We cannot recommend Fagunia enough; especially, if you are looking not just for some respite from the noise and chaos of city life, but to rediscover primal joys and stir your imagination :)||||P.S.:||||- please make sure to pack light; we didn't, and had quite the adventure lugging our stuff down from and back up to the parking area (thankfully, the highly dependable members of the staff, Pandey ji and his friend, saw us through);||||- day trips to Nainital and surrounding areas are absolutely doable, but avoid coming back late, since the last 4 km of the route to the village is a narrow and rough track;||||- the homestay, and surrounding villages, are not suited for loud parties and certain hotel-type amenities (like room service) will not be available (and for good reason!); the whole charm of the place is to disconnect and understand and experience a minimalist and sustainable lifestyle in the Kumaon hills
