Ichhamati Homestay

I was looking for a quiet, clean place in Shantiniketan. Ichchamaty Homestay was perfect for my needs. Room, dining area, kitchen are all well maintained and cleaned daily. It is walking distance from the university campus which of course merits several visits. A nice breakfast is provided every day. Good eating options nearby. The kitchen can be used for simple cooking, heating etc. The family is very courteous, friendly and helpful. It was an ideal place for me and I hope to visit again.

Excellent homestay. Cleanliness is spot on. The host family was very sweet. They specially prepared food only for my grandmother to fit her dietary requirement. The location was very good, next to a very famous restaurant. Toto stand was very close to the homestay, so travelling became very convinient. The homestay cleaned the place regularly. A must stay place in shantiniketan. Will definitely stay at this place whenever i go to shantiniketan and will recommend the same to my family members

I stayed at Ichhamati Homestay for a week during my trip to India, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The owners are exceptionally kind, helpful, and attentive. They were always quick to assist whenever I needed anything. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home. I especially appreciated the peaceful setting. It's located just far enough from the city center to offer tranquility, yet still close enough to easily reach most of Shantiniketan’s main attractions. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and equipped with air conditioning - a big plus in the Indian climate. All in all, my stay at Ichhamati Homestay was delightful. I’d gladly return here on my next visit to India.

Tucked away in the lap of nature ,one can easily find Ichhamati Homestay ,at Sreepalli , Shantiniketan,Bolpur. As one enters , one is greeted with a riot of colors coming from a plethora of plants in all shapes and sizes. The owners are extremely warm and make one feel comfortable at once. The location is just 3 to 4 minutes away from Sangeet Bhavan which makes it easy to access the University campus, Uttarayan complex and Upasana griha by walking. The rooms and washrooms at Ichhamati Homestay are very clean. There is an open kitchen where one can cook food as well if one wishes to. Overall , for a person who has visited Shantiniketan,Bolpur several times, this is one of the coziest and most comfy places I have been to. Recommended for people who want to explore and experience the essence of Shantiniketan, Bolpur. Thank you to the owners( kaku and kakima) for making our stay at Shantiniketan so memorable for us.

I am visiting Shantiniketan since 1979. Never have I come across such a home stay. Situated in the core of ashram. If you love silence, serenity and solitude amidst splash of green, this is the ideal place. I, for one, would love to come back again and again. I really cherished the host's warm hospitality.

I enjoyed my stay at the Ichhamati Homestay, Santiniketan. The location is great, right behind Sangeet Bhavana, Visva Bharati, and within walking distance of the Ashram. The homestay is a quiet place and has all the comforts. The rooms are airconditioned and clean. It has a common kitchen as well as airconditioned dining cum lounge area exclusively for guests. The room I stayed has attached toilet and is extremely clean. The property is well maintained and has a nice garden. The owner is an ex-student as well as ex-employee of Visva Bharati. He knows Santiniketan extremely well and can provide valuable insights as to what to see, where to go and when etc. etc. The Homestay has WiFi for guest usage. Local transports like Toto and private cars are easily available for local sight-seeing The Homestay provides complimentary breakfast. Lunch and dinner are usually arranged by the owner through a third-party home delivery service. We didn’t want to cook ourselves, even though the full arrangement for self-cooking is there. We ate Bengali, Chinese and North Indian food arranged through the third party. I strongly recommend staying in this property if you are would like to get the essence of Santiniketan.
