Hotel Dekyi Pelbar

Very bad experience in this hotel. Service is very bad. Windows of Bath room were open in -1 Degree Temperature. Room heaters were very low heating. Geezer was very slow heating. Every time the Generator has to start for heating water and room heater. If u ask for any thing to supply, after two three reminders service is provided. It is not suitable hotel to stay in Tawang during winter.

Checked into this hotel in April 2023 for 3 nights, on the first day of checkin, there was no electricity and there was no cook in the hotel to prepare tea or snacks, though the hotel as a big restaurant, but it had deserted look as there was nobody to cook. Some how the boy at the reception arranged lunch from outside. The staff was polite and prompt but the experience has been very poor, as one day we did not get tea as the boy said we do not have milk!|The room was just okay type, with inadequate heater at -1 Deg C, and the hot water in the bathroom was enough to wash hands, as the geyser capacity was very small.

We stayed here for four nights in the last week of December. Hotel Deyki Pelbar is located in a street of the Old Market Area of Tawang. The hotel has very basic furnishing/decor and has more of a government guest house feel from inside. We paid much more than the worth of the property (Rs.3,000 for a “front view” room without breakfast) as our plan was last minute and no other properties were available. The “front view” rooms cost more as they apparently have a view of the mountains, but our room was on the first floor so there wasn’t much of a view. Try to get a room on the higher floors (six floors in all) if you are paying for the view, but be warned, there is no lift in the hotel. The Hotel rooms were very basic. The wardrobe was not clean and we couldn’t keep anything in them during our stay, bed linen was passable. Washrooms were decent. Room heater was provided. There was also a gap in the window of the room, which made the room unbearable cold throughout the day. Tawang has very frequent power cuts. Although the Hotel has a generator, they ration their fuel and only provide electricity for an hour or two in the evening. On the first day of our stay, the hotel cook John Bhaiya was there at the hotel and he prepared good food. After he left there was barely any food available at the property and even the morning tea was not good, so we started eating outside. Staff seemed like they were doing the best they can but the owner/management seem to have neglected the property which is preventing it from reaching its true potential.

This is the worst hotel I've ever seen , The manager & staff doesn’t have manners how to speak with the customers.Very rude and unconscionable behaviour. The phones in the hotel do no work you have to go down again and again to order food, We order food but no response even after an hour, When we asked at the reception why our meal was so late then they tell us that our food is not ready yet because they shared ours food to other customer , But they did not inform us before doing this , When we asked to them why this was done without telling us I was totally shocked the way he behaved. Extremely rude and unprofessional. The award of the worst and most disgusting hotel goes to "Hotel Dekyi Pelbar" . Also the rooms are very small and there is no housekeeping, The hotel bathroom is very dirty. Completly overall pathetic experience wasting of money.The hotel staff behavior and facilities was screwed my whole experience, the guy was in reception who doesn't know how to behave with a guest and most importantly there is no body who can come forward and solve the problem inspite of having ,there is a another staff who passing the comment from back which was so rude and disrespectful, disappointed. I will never ever visit again and also suggest others to do on the same.

The only good thing about this place is the rooms. They are spacious and, clean. Some of them even have good view. However, coming to service, it was terrible. Keep reminding them to provide drinking water, there would be no response. Their intercom stops working in the night. Aasked for blankets, they blatantly refused saying it is not available. However, on interference from the travel agent, blankets magically appeared. Also, don't bother with the food.

One of the worst hotel in Tawang. 2200 Rs for a double bedroom. Bathroom was not clean when we checked in. Towel and bedsheet were dirty. They do not provide slippers. Food was tasteless and heavy on pocket. Behaviour of the staffs was rude. At one point, they threatened us to leave the hotel when we asked for toilet tissue. Overall, a very horrible experience. AVOID THIS PLACE!!

By Tawang standards it's pretty good. The rooms are decent and the washrooms are clean. Will recommend for a mid budget stay. The staff is friendly and the food is homely. Also, it's close to the market.

Very unprofessional hotel. The staff is very uncooperative. They resort to petty behaviour on the smallest of issues. The kitchen service is horrible. A serious advise to all travellers. Do not stay here. Its utterly rubbish.
