Tawang Homestay

The service could be better. Breakfast requests are not taken earlier and were asked to eat what they made. Otherwise, rooms have been fantastic and have lot of space.

We stayed at this place for 2 nights. The room was comfortable and the food was good, but it was too expensive for a basic breakfast. The owner behaved politely during check-in, but in the morning, a truck carrying construction materials blocked the main entrance gate. When our driver asked for the road to be cleared, the owner rudely scolded the driver and questioned his common sense. The same lady who had earlier instructed the driver to park inside the gate. The man owner was also very rude towards us. At the time of check-out, the lady was also very rude.

Very recently we stayed in Tawang home stay alongwith my family for three nights. We booked their two room cottage. Both the rooms are spacious and having all the required amenities. Rooms and toilets are clean and well maintained. Location and ambience is vey good. Lady owner and her entire staff is very courteous and helpful. Food is homely but having very little choice which we feel needs to be improved. Overall good and safe place to stay.

Pristine are the views from the homestay and pristine is the homestay itself. The most beautifull homestay we have ever stayed and the bonfire room adds to the vibe greatly. The owner is so lovely and helpfull, she helped us in some matter going out of the way, she can be said the free of cost class A tourist guide to all the travellers of tawang not only her guests.

Had very high hopes for this stay after seeing the reviews but was utterly disappointed.This homestay claims to be a homestay but charges like a hotel (takes service charge without providing any basic service). Please ensure you have full written documentation of your conversation with the owner regarding the prices of the rooms or the details of what you have booked as they tend to go back on their word and leads to undue harassment and ugly arguments backed by zero logic. They have two properties (Tashi and Tawang) located in the same compound which they claim to belong together but upon billing each charges their own whims and fancies . Apart from the location there is nothing great about this homestay. Food is very basic veg and eggs . Service and management is horrible.

The place was good but the service was just awful. Tawang homestay and tashi homestay are within the same compound. The owner was not helpful at all. She charged us for wanting extra paranthas for breakfast, which was complimentary with the room. Moreover, she charged us 10% service charge, which was apparently for the person who washed our plates etc. When questioned about these costs, she started to argue very rudely and inappropriately. Would not recommend this place to anyone simply because of the bad behaviour of the owner.

The place is pretty but the people managing it is real bad. They didn't even serve us water & charged us for 1 packaged drinking water bottle that came with the checkin day. We were literally asked to refill our own water, make our own tea & also saw other tourists asked to make food for their families. Food was not good & we were charged 50 rupees per extra paranthas that was apparently complimentary with the room charges while booking. The rooms were not at all worth 3k which was again a hidden cost. We were told that they charged us 14% service charges i.e. for washing the plates. This for Tashi honestly particularly which is an adjoining property with Taking Honestly.

I stayed at the Tawang homestay with my sister for 2 nights. It’s a beautiful property with an amazing scenic view. They have clean spacious rooms with heater and bathroom with geyser. The humble and pleasant host - Ms. Lhamu, made us feel at home and took great care of us. She’s a very hardworking and passionate woman, who also works for the Arunachal Tourism Department. She has a lovely family who attended to all our requests and served us delicious homely meals. The homestay is close to the Buddha park, War memorial (highly recommend the light and sound show at 5:30 pm), Tawang monastery and many other places one could visit in Tawang. Overall, we had a delightful experience and would very much recommend this place.
