Aveda Hotel

It is an experience that is different and a must if one loves cricket and has few extra bucks to spare. ||||As starters, this is a stadium with the private members stands converted into rooms. That sounds awesome. Views from rooms is excellent. You can see ice covered mountains and cricket field at the same time. If you are lucky you may witness a match being played as well. ||||The hotel rooms are nicely done up, you may find few squeaks here and there but nothing to linger on the mind. The food we shall rate just good and the service takes a tat longer. ||||The best part of the stay is that all rooms open to balconies which in fact are extension into the stadium. Sip a morning coffee, afternoon beer or evening cocktail, one would indeed have fun with views and the experience. ||||We would recommend people to hop skip across the hotel property and visit the tracks that have been newly commissioned. If you are a fitness freak, you would enjoy doing a couple of rounds on the track. An amazing experience with snowy peaks visible while you are running on the tracks. ||||To sum it up it is a different experience and one that is a must for a cricket fan. The mantra is stay to enjoy the views and sweat it out on tracks, if you wish.||||#UnCrushedLeaves

It didn't look like a Hotel on a first look, but the decor was too good for a stadium. We started to feel like in a hotel as we moved into the room. The food was good in both occasions but the wifi was very slow. The views from the room which opens towards the private stands of the stadium was fantastic. It was altogether a different experience though at checkout I was taken aback when they didn't accept credit card and accepts only cash. The tariff was also on the higher side.

An awesome view of the stadium plus the finesse of the suite will add Romantic edge to your vacation. Food is good and so is the view of the ground and mountain peaks from the restaurant. Just one thing, that the balconies are not private....They are all joined, maybe because its stadium. But does not help if you like privacy.

The view from the rooms and balcony are worth dying for. The all glass walls ,separations add to the viewing range though you may worry a little for privacy. A hotel in a stadium has its own restrictions considering security aspects. In spite of lot of requests kid were not allowed to the ground even with supervision or restrictions. That spoilt the mood of kids. Good break fast and dinner with limited snacks options at other times.||One must continuously alert the kids as out of excitement they kept colliding with all glass doors, walls even to the point of serious injury.

" Aveda" was a ghost hotel, with nearly nil-human activity when we were visiting. Poorly-staffed and with almost no amenities for a family with children except to sit in the balcony and stare at an empty stadium !!!! In retrospect I wonder on what criteria this hotel was recommended to us by my travel agent. The hotel is located nearly 12 km away from Macleodganj, were all the action happens in Dharamsala. We could hardly venture out of the hotel ourselves in the evenings even for a small, interesting stroll. Food was however good and rooms were comfortable.

Its situated at lower Dharamshala, specifically it's at Dharamshal cricket ground. The rooms are very well maintained , decorated and with lots of amenities. The most beautiful part is any one can enjoy the majestic Dhauladhar mountain from room or balcony. Basically the rooms are corporate or VIP lounge box during any cricket match. But one to mention one thing here there might be a security issue. any one can access your balcony from stadium during your stay. We had faced the issue during our stay, some one has knocked the balcony door (glass door) multiple times and finally we had to call reception for action. There is a complimentary breakfast but we didn't get much option during our stay.

Hotel is beat in class with all the basic amenities. Luxurious, great food, spectacular views, easily accessible, free wifi, taxi outside hotel are few facilities which makes your day less hustled. I tottaly recommend it.

I had made a room reservation at Hotel Aveda-Dharamshala for May 2014 by paying due advance money few months ahead of our trip and I had also got a due confirmation/receipt from Aveda management. However, about 10 days ahead of on our arrival day, I contacted the hotel reception for informing on our arrival time. This is when I got a shock by receiving a reply stating they cannot assure of giving me a room as promised by themselves earlier. The sad part still ahead,….I have not yet got my money back till date, in spite several reminders from my side.||Mr. Ravi Sharma-General Manager, who have been acknowledging other reviews have been reading my emails written to him but does not have a professional courtesy even to return back my own money nor he is even replying back to my emails.||Per my plan, I had visited Dharamshala in May 2014 and stayed at Hotel Conifer who does not even ask for an advance money. Hotel Conifer is good to stay. During that panicky situation, I had contacted other hotels in Dharamshala & M’clodganj area. Some of them had asked for an advanced money for confirming our reservation, however as my planned day of visiting Dharamshala arrived, these hotels themselves started chasing me to come to their hotel for staying. ||||Hence, be careful while paying an advanced money in this area and especially with Hotel Aveda-Dharamshala, because they can ditch you any moment without returning back your own money….!!!
