New Serkong House

Our recent stay at the New Serkong House was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. The hotel is pristine, with every corner of the property, from the inviting lobby to our comfortable room, being immaculately clean. The staff deserves special commendation for their warm, professional, and genuinely friendly service; they were always on hand to offer helpful recommendations and ensure our needs were met. The location is truly unbeatable. Tucked away perfectly, it provides a peaceful escape while still being conveniently close to all the local attractions. However, the most memorable aspect of our visit was undoubtedly the incredible views. Our room looked out onto a breathtaking panorama that was simply stunning, especially at sunrise. This hotel combines a serene environment with top-notch service and an unparalleled scenic backdrop, making it the perfect choice for a memorable getaway.

We stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days. We booked 1 suite, 2 double rooms - all facing the valley. The balcony is good. Overall I am giving 4 ratings 1. The rooms are big and neat . 2. The staffs are polite 3. The owner takes interest in queries and helpful. 4. It's 30 metre from the main market so technically that the USP . 5. The road towards the house is the biggest concern and I don't know if any possibility of improvement as it's not on their control. 6. We had good time, overall

We had a wonderful stay! The staff were very kind, attentive and always ensuring we had everything we needed. The authentic Tibetan-style rooms are beautiful and cozy, with a fantastic view on valley and mountains. We had room number 202. Thank you, Passang La and team, for making our stay so special and familiar. We’ll come back and highly recommend this well-located hotel to anyone visiting McLeod Ganj!

I had the most horrible experience in this so called three star hotel. There were no proper facilities and amenities as boasted by the property. No wifi and when enquired, they just brushed it off as “rooms are all full, so everyone’s using the Internet”. Really, at the amount I paid, they should have arranged proper routers in each floor for seamless connections. It doesn’t stop there. The TV was not working and once again, the standard response was, “TV doesn’t work”, why not? You didn’t mention all this to me while checking in, why now after check in. Hot water boiler took almost 12 hours to heat and we had to drop the idea of shower. Have you ever heard of a hotel charging exorbitant price and not even considering a dressing mirror ? Just a full length mirror was all they needed and even that was asking for luxury. I couldn’t wait to check out the next day and would never consider / recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Macleodganj. Maybe there’s different way of showing hospitality to foreigners who are raving about the place, but believe it when it’s a local’s opinion. That one star is only because it’s not allowing me to post, or else it’s a big fat zero.

Really good gyathuk (noodles) and momo. They make their noodles in house and the texture is amazing—not too soft nor too hard. Such a pity no one really knows about this gem of a restaurant, which is located in the basement of their hotel.
