Capital O 6962 Hotel Wood Castle

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Wood Castle, a gem nestled in the heart of the Mcleodganj. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking views of the valley with snow peaks visibility and exceptional hospitality. The food was pretty decent with variety. The staff is quite helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious with beautiful balcony views. It is accessible and market is close. I'll definitely recommend this hotel for your workcation as well as family or friends vacation

worst rooms and service i have ever seen. booked hotel according to reviews but zero cooperation from staff, dirty room, flush not working, rodents are here. bad behaviour of staff as we have paid advance for three days. they have said to leave the room if not feeling good but we serve like this. never book this hotel.

Never book this hotel. Because if a new customer give more money then they can cancel your old booking shamelessly.. I booked for a deluxe room one month before of my stay date by goibibo. Just before 6 day of stay I received a call from hotel that our hotel is fully booked we can not give you room.( online rooms availability showed even before 10days of my stay date).you cancel booking from your side. I complained about this to goibibo. They contacted hotel owner but he did not agree to give room. Price of other hotel rooms became double from my booking date. Then after complain goibibo gave me same room in other hotel.. But think about if they just give my money back. I needed to pay double for rooms. So stay away from this type of hotels.

Had worst experience while residing. Rooms are very dirty and even the fan is making horrible noise. Food quality is pathetic. I ordered chicken noodles and they simply gives veg noodles. Walls are really very bad, wooden work is there and you will find the insects. No hygiene and room also stinks. Intercom also not working and no soap available in washroom. Not a family hotel it's just a lodge kind off...no room service no kettle in the room.

Pros - The rooms are big and clean with nice views. The food is decent, along with free breakfast (not a buffet). The staff is polite and accommodating. We initially booked for 2 nights but extended it for 4 nights. Hotel also has free parking.||||Cons - No lift. The location is decent but not very close to the main street. You'd have to walk to rooftop and then take a steep road for 10-12 mins to the main street. Most of it is filled with shops along the way, so you can stop by and take it easy.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Water supply is good and the food is also nice. The view from the hotel rooms is a treat to watch as the mountain range is clearly visible. The road to this hotel however is a bit tricky but they have their parking space available. It's a bit far from the main market as well but transportation facility is readily available.

If you are looking for extravagance, this hotel is not for you. However, the place is clean and housekeeping is better than many 4-star properties. Rooms are simple and the ones with valley view should be opted for. However, the one in which we stayed did not get any sunlight. Heating is available in rooms only from 6 pm to 8 am at extra cost, which could be a drawback. Our room was really cold and we had to ask for heating. There is an open drain outside because of which there is a stink in the lower floor rooms. Parking is available but could be a problem when the hotel is fully occupied. Access to the hotel is a bit tricky. One can walk down to the heart of McLeod Ganj in about 10 mins but for that you will have to climb several stairs to get to the hotel's terrace. We did not order any food from the in-house restaurant. To sum it up, it is a basic hotel with basic facilities but clean inside and helpful staff.

The hotel is nice, neat and clean, and the staff was pleasant. Food was also tasty and reasonably priced. They have their own parking so you don't have to worry about parking, which is the most amazing thing when travelling. In a nutshell, value for money.
