LA Riqueza Koala Inn

I had an amazing stay at Koala Inn! The owner was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The staff were equally exceptional—friendly, professional, and always ready to assist. The service was top-notch, and they really made me feel at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities you could ask for. I also loved the location, which made it easy to explore the area. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend this hotel. I’ll definitely be back!

I booked offline for 3 days. Unfortunately my daughter was unwell and has rhinitis. We booked the family room with 4 beds and were informed that there would be a balcony with a side view but room number 301 had no side view, just the back of some hotels with trash all around. I challenge if anyone can prove other wise. Being a family room it was bigger in size which is good. Cons. No central heating. They charge you 500 for the room heater which is a very cheap quality heater and completely incapable of heating the room. For a room which is 4000 per day isn't cheap , I didn't expect anything fancy but at least tea coffee kit or toilet paper won't be a big ask. Asked for an extra jug of water as there was only 1. Was mentioned all the rooms are occupied and we have only 1 jug per room. Whether 1 litre of water for a 4 bed room is enough for you to decide. When I mentioned my daughters situation and it deteriorated because the heater is not working they kept pushing me for more money which I didn't pay . Pros Staff is courteous. Food is delicious. However denied to serve non veg at night as they ran out of it

We had an amazing experience at Koala Inn. Avinash and his team were incredibly kind and gave us personal attention throughout our stay. The food was delicious, and the views from the balcony were absolutely magnificent. I was initially a bit concerned after seeing a comment mentioning that the hotel was under construction, but upon arriving, I found it to be fully developed. This made me question the accuracy of that review. Overall, our stay was wonderful, and I highly recommend Koala Inn to anyone looking for a great experience.

Pros: -Great price -Within walking distance of the centre of McLeod Ganj yet removed enough for it to be quiet and peaceful -Nice balcony with view -Relatively clean -Hot water -Rooftop area Cons: -Staff asked repeatedly for me to leave a five star review -Laundry cost me about double what it would in Australia -Mattress was heavily depressed -The manager came into my room to try and convince me to pay for a six hour taxi to my next destination. It is so not ok to enter a guest's room. Also, beware of the stray dogs, not the hotel's fault but I got nipped and had to take the relevant precautions.

Unfortunately, this hotel is still under construction, but they don’t inform you of that before booking. We endured two days of drilling through concrete directly above and around our room, and today, the noise of angle grinders continues. The family room is uncomfortably cold, receiving no sunlight at any time of the day. A heater was provided upon request, but it’s so weak that you have to stand right next to it to feel any warmth. Worse, the balcony door isn’t properly sealed or framed, allowing cold air to seep in. The room is designed to sleep 4-5 people, yet the hot water only lasts about 90 seconds—completely inadequate. While there is a kettle, we had to request mugs, and no tea, coffee, sugar, or even teaspoons were provided. The included breakfast is terrible and not worth it, especially considering the amazing food options available in and around McLeod Ganj. Despite the construction disturbance, management refused to refund unused nights when we requested to check out early. This place could have potential, but it needs serious improvements—both in facilities and management. With so many better hotels and genuinely hospitable places to stay, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Super cozy and comfortable stay. Rooms were very clean, perfect for a peaceful vacation to enjoy time in nature. Mr. Avinesh was also very helpful and was always available for all our needs even at odd times. Totally recommended to everyone looking for a great place in Mcleodganj!

Pros : Awesome staff service Cleanliness was good Nearby to market Only one cons according to me is have to clb stairs to reach to market. But I believe most of the hotels are situated like that only because of the geography of area. Overall good experience here :)

During our late checkout, the receptionist spoke to us in an incredibly disrespectful manner, almost as if they were eager to get rid of us. Their tone was unprofessional and rude, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. Despite claiming to be a budget hotel, they kept adding extra charges for everything. It felt misleading, as they failed to communicate these additional costs upfront. This made the stay much more expensive than expected, and the lack of transparency only added to the frustration. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for an honest and hassle-free stay
