Backpackers Inn

Hostel looks like on the pictures. The stuff is nice. We did laundry there - white clothes came a bit dirty and lost two socks. Not bad. We booked a room in 6 people dormitory but we got a private room with a bathroom. It would be a really good stay, but everything there seems to be dirty, not fresh blankets. One good cleaning and the place would be really amazing for this price. The location was also very good - just be prepared for a lot of stairs.

Guys do not go to this place. 1. Located downhill to main road, you have to climb atleast 40 stairs and a gallary to reach main road 2. Absolute Water shortage in property, they only have 1hr supply and running whole hotel on that. You can't bath or use toilet after 11-12pm bcuz there's no water left to use until then. (We came back from triund track after 16 hrs of leaving the room, around 2pm and wanted to clean up, and guess what, there was no water until the next morning. ) (AndThey can't even get water tankers to meet the demand bcuz of their downhill location from the road) 3. Rooms are average and they charge 1500-1600 for these. 4. Property photos are taken from upside. Otherwise it's just gallary and stairs if you enter the property. 5. No exterior, no parking available, not good room services. If you don't want to climb that much and face severe water shortage. Then consider not booking this place

I had an absolutely horrible experience at this hotel. The bed had bed bugs, and the blankets were incredibly dirty, as if they hadn’t been washed in months. When I brought this up to the owner, he shockingly admitted that the blankets hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The washroom was no better—mould was growing on the walls, making it feel completely unhygienic. I couldn’t believe how poorly maintained everything was. This place was a nightmare, and I would never recommend anyone to stay here.

We arrived in our private room to find mould on the walls and the pillows, the blankets and towels were dirty & had blood stains, and the room felt as though it hadn't been cleaned. When we tried to go to sleep, I had an allergic reaction to the dust on the blanket. We could've asked to switch rooms but the state of this room was so bad we decided it was best to just pack up and go elsewhere. The view is amazing & pakoras from the cafe were great, so go for a snack but I wouldn't recommend staying here.

So my friend and I arrived at 6am off a night sleeper bus. Ganesh woke up and showed us straight to our room so we could catch up on sleep. He was super informative about walks around the area and tried to help you out best he could.

As name suggests good for backpackers only. Not suggested when you are with family, kids. Do not have high expectations with offered food, room and stairs (incase you have lots of luggage). We had problems in water supply in our bathrooms. Blankets were smelling. Balcony unclean. However, view from the room and the terrace is amazing. So, if you are a solo backpacker, in a group of young friends, in macleodganj for experience, and low on budget this may be the place.

I was bitten by bed bugs. When i informed they had a very casual reaction. He mentioned that blankets are not washed from 3 weeks. They are not bothered about the customer at all. All good reviews are atleast 5-6 months old. The reviews are a bit rigged as all are old. Recent ones are really bad reviews.

Beautiful view @simple place .. don't expect luxurious,,too be honest place is amazing spl ganesh bhai .he is very good person and honest helpful..trust me book this place
