Hotel Old Monk

There was a choice of rooms at the front or the back, we chose (front) street side. Standard Rooms, No bottle of drinking water in the room, limited wifi. It seems that the Old Monk has left, and a number of young people seem to be running the hoptel, it seems that they are not used to Western visitors. You can book breakfast or dinner in advance. It is about a 5-minute walk to the nice market, restaurants or coffee shops. I will definitely come back here.

We stayed here for 3 days with the group of 13 people. We had an exceptional stay here. The lady owner was incredibly welcoming, attentive and caring. The food was delicious, and the amenities was well maintained. Every thing was up to the mark there. I would give more than 5 stars👍👍

Though the old monk may be a hotel but it is truly a wonderful home stay with great service and personal attention by the owners Rana and Yangchen. We were treated to amazing good food including tibetan speciality Thukpa that Yangchen specially made for us. Rooms are pretty comfortable and have amazing views of the mountains. We had fun evenings with them sitting around the wood fired hot stove and marvelous discussion about local customs, culture, spiti sights. I highly recommend it.

I have been to many hotels, lodges, homestays and hostels but I cannot stress how good this one is. The interesting thing is that this hotel isn't great because of its high standards of hygiene and professionalism, but it is so good because the owners make you feel at home. Yangchen aunty and her family care for their guests like we are a part of their family (and after staying there, I believe that I truly am). There may be many hotels in Kaza but none of them offer what this one does, love & affection. I can't recommend anyone to go to this hotel because you don't recommend anyone to come to your house but instead, you welcome people. Therefore, I lovingly welcome everyone to be here and meet aunty. As far as the essentials go, the rooms were clean and washrooms spick & span. The room service was on time and professional. The food was as delicious and lively as the common area, full of great vibes. And the hotel is well situated as the market & other essentials are around an easy 10-minute walk. (Also, if aunty you are reading this, you are one of the most caring and loving people I've ever met, thank you for such a wonderful time ❤️)

Hotel Old Monk at Kaza is the best hotel by far in terms of hospitality and service, that I ever came across. The lady owner (aunty) is such a gem of a person. Both the uncle and aunty will make your stay comfy and will make you feel at home. Good staff service and Good Food by the Hotel staff. One should try their Dal khichdi which is very rare to see at a buffet. Overall great experience at this place. Would have rated more than 5 star of that was an option.

I visited here The lady owner was very caring and helpful i was not well due to personal reasons She herself went to the chemist and to the hospital to take my medicine. She gav me treatment and until i was alright I hav never ever seen such hospitality any were she was so kind in every way. Respect to her... Motherly feeling. Big salute . Rooms were neat n cleans. Staff was kind and respectful.
