NillIt is a relatively new hotel, and it shows in both ways - will add details below. Rooms: Most of the rooms are mountain-facing, but some are street-side facing. So please clarify before booking. The view from the mountain-facing rooms is good. Also, not all rooms have the same size and amenities. Some rooms are quite large, and some are tiny. Amenities: Our rooms (total 4) did not have any mirror - only one present inside the bathroom. The wardrobe was without any shelves or a rod, although provisions were present to attach the rod. So you cannot use the wardrobe to keep your clothes. There is no other place in the room to keep your clothes or suitcase properly. They don't provide an electric kettle, but a flask. The bathroom is pretty clean (being a new hotel), but there is no provision for a geyser. They have a "solar water heater," but it's kind of an oxymoron to use these in Manali - you don't get proper sunlight in winter, so you won't get hot water, and in summer you won't need as much hot water. Service: When we arrived at the hotel, the staff present were unaware of our arrival. We had to wait 30 minutes in the reception area before they found the keys for our room, which is absolutely unacceptable. They were debating among themselves about which rooms to allocate for us! Ultimately, we got 4 rooms spread across 2 floors, with 2 mountain-facing rooms and 2 street-facing - although it is common sense to allocate all rooms on 1 floor. So there is zero thought and planning which goes into room allocation. When I entered the room, I saw the bedsheets had long hairs and the blanket cover had food stains. Pillows and towels were missing. I had to ask to get these replaced. We later realized the bad experiences till now were because the person Mittu had gone to the market to procure groceries and he singlehandedly is keeping the place together. The other people working at the property are pretty much worthless. When Mittu arrived, he profusely apologized for the inconvenience we faced and made sure our experience going forward would be good. Food: Then came the next shock - we had booked room + breakfast + dinner, but we then came to know that the hotel is completely vegetarian, and not even eggs are provided. Another oxymoron for a property with a Japanese name. I saw in another review, the owner has replied talking about an A La Carte menu for non-vegetarian food, etc., but that is not true. The food system is barely in place together with Mittu alone preparing the food, and the kitchen is completely vegetarian. There is no menu per se to look at. Whatever food we had at the property was tasting good - again kudos to Mittu. He was kind enough to allow us to bring non-veg starters from outside for dinner and have them inside our rooms, while we ordered the veg main course from the hotel. The food price is also high, with 2 dinners of rice + roti + alu jeera + dal for 6 people costing 3600 rupees! Location: The location is pretty far from Manali mall, so only recommended if you have a car with you. But the location is compensated by the quiet atmosphere and the view from the mountain-facing rooms. Would I recommend: Not really! Stay away from this property. The owner has no intention in hospitality. We tried to speak with the owner over the phone, but the response is not worth writing here.

★★★★★The hotel is beautiful, it’s placed in a really nice scenic spot. You are in a nice peaceful village, but you’re also reasonably close to the main parts of Manali, which means you get the best of both worlds!! The staff were so kind, so polite, and so helpful. They made sure that I always had everything that I needed, and they went above and beyond to look after me. They were amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel for any visitors coming to Manali!!
