OYO 61951 Hotel Green Tara

***Stayed here in July 2024 and booked via Airbnb*** Wonderful place that feels right at home. Just a km away from the famous Shanti Stupa and 10mins downhill walk to the Leh Market. Located in a very residential place giving guests the quiet time needed. We extended our stay due to the ability to work remotely, the place has good wifi, parking, kitchen etc. There's a cook/help onsite who's available throughout to provide breakfast, lunch or dinner and any other help if needed. The host is very friendly, responsive and gives you the space you need. Very few friendly places in Leh and Tara Residency made is very easy to stay at. Lots of outdoor space for the pets and also the roof is accessible for the pets too. Will definitely recommend this place especially if you're coming with pets, but otherwise too it's wonderful. Can stay here for days, week or months if needed. I'll definitely return to this property if I come to Leh again.

Galwan Palace is an excellent budget hotel in Leh, offering comfortable and clean rooms with great views of the mountains. Food is delicious and the service is excellent. The location is ideal and close to all the tourist attractions in Leh. Highly recommend.

Worst hotel in Leh. We stayed here for 4 nights in Jan2020. Go here only if you’re left with no other choice. This will be a complete spoiler of your trip. Rooms are terrible, roof of the room drips/droplets freezes in night. Money minded for everything. Bashir who works here is always looking for opportunities for looting money from guests. Food is horrible. They don’t even make good coffee. Bathrooms are dirty and slippery. Charged 3000 bucks for 3 people. You can find much better options with in 100m of this like Mountain Retreat...

I love this hotel! You get rooms with panoramic views of the Himalayas! Imagine this, waking up, you get to have hot tea while looking at the majestic mountains. Ha! For someone being so faraway from home, everyone made me felt like I am safe and secured. I was so well attended that it made my stay really special.

We stayed in the hotel for 5 days. Tahir was an incredible host. He was friendly and welcoming. Since we are from south India, we thought we might have a problem with food at Leh. But the food was very tasty at the hotel. Thanks to the cook. The staff were good, disciplined. The stay was peaceful and memorable. Thanks Tahir and Galwan palace for your service.

Rooms are good and spacious. Food is just like one's home and you need that when you are in Ladakh. Tahir was a great host, please count on his expertise as you will need someone who is well accustomed. ||||Had arranged for a complimentary bonfire and cake as it was my first anniversary. Wifi is there, and you can definitely leave everything to Tahir to plan the trip.

This place is not worth the time effort and much less the money. We made the reservations while sitting in the parking lot during a storm. We walked in with our registration confirmation number once the payment had been charged to my credit card and the man at the counter wanted another $50.00 deposit in cash or he would not give us a room. We told him we would cancel the reservation and he just laughed in our face saying that we would be charged anyway. I have filed a dispute for this charge on my credit card since we could not get the room without cash on hand. I will never again use this location and if all of OYO locations are the same I will not use or recommend this chain to anyone.

Plan your stay at Galwan Palace and you will feel like your second home. It is situated at the top of the hill. Peaceful, lovely people , good infra(heaters are also available). You can sit in the layout and enjoy the weather there. Food is tasty and arranged on time. People respond on a very quick basis of any concerns. Tahir, the owner of the hotel is the best person whom you can ever meet in lifetime. He took care of us as more than a family member. And trust me, that's true. If he wasn't there, maybe we couldn't even manage to come back as planned. A real Hero. Thank you Tahir. And loved your place.
