Hotel Golden Meadows, Sonmarg

*PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE* Location is scam. The approach road is horrible. 2 kilometer of approach road from main sonmarg highway to the location is damaged. Your entire belly will be rolling inside the car while heading to that place. Worst condition access. They will upsell you the most expensive hotel room with meals. During night I saw the hotel staff give 2 rooms to 8 gentleman. The gentlemans kept talking loudly till 3 am. There is high possibility that you pay three - four times more money when booking your room. It is very likely someone staying next door gets same room below 2000 after negotiating . *The GOOD part* Staff is professional but I can't blame the economic realities. When their rooms go empty, they will be desperate to rent it out for cheapest prices. The staff can't really do much if some group of random guys are roaming drunk in the premises. Views are great but terrible road and cheap drunk people will become nightmare. I had booked for 5 days and had to leave immediately after staying one night because of such horrible circumstances. Please beware no one is coming to help you in middle of night when the guests next door create nuisance. In this video you see that dirty dishes were not picked up from night to 11 am.

Premium room for 3 adults 1 child was very small. Bed is queen sized. Even if the luxury room was empty for 1 night out of our 2 nights stay, our room was not upgraded, we were ready to pay extra. Location is awesome. Staffs are very nice. Overall pleasant stay.

This Hotel is completely misleading. The room they gave us looked nothing like the pictures online – it was smaller, poorly maintained, and not worth the price. We cancelled one day of our stay, and they promised a refund, but never gave it. Total scam. Avoid this place!

The view from the room was good. But they didn’t have room heating available till 10:30pm. There was no al carte option for dinner and they provided very basic buffet for Rs800 which was costly. The staff was not very good. They were not even entertaining any requests. This is not at all a 4star property. Please book Radisson or Lemon Tree or similar if you need 4star service. Our Kashmir tour agent arranged this low cost and low maintained resort which didn’t even felt like a resort. They have very good pictures online and tariff is less expensive but then it doesn’t even meet the basic 4star category. This is similar to a low 3star budget stay.

Overall stay was good. Staff was helpful and polite. Food is overpriced and yet not so good. Location is ultimate and scenic.

The place has excellent view of the valley. Not sure if they r short of people but service was slow. The food was worst. All 5 of my family fell sick after eating the food there. The staff did not have the basic courtesy to accept the feedback.

Location is good,area is good,food is not acceptable it is too much oily,the major issue was they switched off ac in the middle of the night,there was no airflow and no sleep it is not recommended at all

This is one of the comfortable and coziest places to stay in Sonamarg. More so as it is on the way to Thajwas glacier. The rooms offer breathtaking views of the meadow and food is delicious. Highly recommended
