We had a 4 room cottage. Amazing room and view. Also, the caretaker's service was amazing. He is a very nice person. We cooked there, he made all the arrangements.The hotel boys arranged for all our luggage to be picked up and dropped off. We went in November, 2023

I stayed for 3 night here during 2nd week of July for Amarnath Yatra - booked deluxe room Visit this property mainly for its location and the beautiful views of the Sonmarg valley. The property is quite large, with ample parking and a garden where horses are often seen grazing. However, here are some negative observations: 1. No telephone service – to call the service staff, you have to step out of the room. 2. The rooms are spacious but poorly maintained. 2. Water heater Jug was not provided 3. The bathroom lacks a shower and a bath stool. 4. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working. 5. The WC seat cover was broken. 6. I did not notice any security guards or surveillance cameras. The property has a large restaurant that can accommodate over 50 people at a time. Abdul Chacha was a kind person and prepared some delicious Kashmiri dishes.

We stayed at Hotel Kongposh between 21-22 March 2025.. Below are my observations.. 1. Hotel Location: Excellent. Very close to market and snow activities spot. 2. Rooms: Very good. looking at the tariff they charge. 3. Room Service: On demand and good. 4. Reception: Very good and helpful. Especially Mr. Hidayath was always ready to help. 5. Food/Restaurant: They serve good Tea and parathas. Mr. Abdulla from Kitchen/Pantry is a very warm person. 6. Wine Shop: You have to cross Sindhu bridge. 10 mins walk from the Hotel. Overall a great experience accepting the fact that this hotel is managed by JKTC and not privately owned. Thanks again Mr. Hidayath and Mr. Abdulla.

The worst hotel I have every stayed . The rooms are very costly and at the same time very unhygienic and pethatic ...avoid staying there. Better to find near by hotel..

The property earns 5* only due to the location and special mention of Abdul chacha and Sajjad bhai. They were one of the best persons I met on the planet earth. The rooms needed upkeep, especially the washrooms which Sajjad bhai took care once we checked in. It has got all the amenities but lacks maintainence. It has also got no wifi connection. Upon inquiry we came to know about a sad fact that the employees are only paid salaries once in two months which is not doing justice to them and also to the property. JKTDC must take care of one of its gem of properties alongwith their people. It's right in the main market of Sonmarg right beside the taxi stand and surrounded by mountains. There is a way to go to the meadow behind the property which Abdul chacha guided us and it made our day. He also cooks very well. Must try the chicken/egg curry, Aloo Zeera/mixed veg, you will fall in love. Will love to visit again!

Superb location and amazing atmosphere. I am writing about the surroundings of this JKTDC hotel located in Kongoosh, Sonmarg, Kashmir. The ambiance outside of the hotel is so mesmerising . This is the beauty of Kashmir ♥️. The hotel has a very big and beautiful lawn. The hotel is located at the market and has a very scenic views as at the back side is covered with the mountains. But for better view you have to book room accordingly. Because not all rooms are having good views. Most of the rooms having obstructions outside. So for better view request at the time of booking. Rooms are neat and clean and well maintained. But the washroom can be maintained in a better way. Rooms are provided with electrical blankets which is much required in Kashmir climate. Service is not upto mark, just because less number of staffs. The restaurant is also having limited options. So for food you will have to be dependent on outside restaurants if you want to enjoy much more variety. Just outside the gate so many restaurants available. The hotel has good parking area which can accommodate 10-12 cars inside the premises and many cars can be parked just outside the premises in front of the hotel, which seems to be very safe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for location ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for hotel stay experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for food ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for room service ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for parking space ⭐️⭐️ for wash rooms

The location of the hotel is great. It is in front of the market & behind is lush green mountain range. However, the hotel has very little manpower. The food needs to be ordered well before the time. They offer limited options. Only one man was taking orders & servicing us.

There was a huge rodent in the room which literally gave us the shivers…. They don’t provide electrical kettle for warm water which is nowadays such a basic requirement even in average 3-star hotel…please please avoid staying here especially with family
