"An Unforgettable Nightmare: Avoid Hunza Houseboat at All Costs" I had one of the most disappointing experiences of my life staying at Hunza Houseboat in Kashmir. Right from the start, it was clear that this place was misrepresented in every way. Here are just a few of the issues that made my stay unbearable: No Electricity or Water: In freezing temperatures, there was no running water or electricity for most of our stay, making even the basics impossible to manage. Unacceptable Facilities: The WC in the bathroom was broken, and the entire setup felt neglected and poorly maintained. Substandard Food: Breakfast was far from the promised experience. It was neither substantial nor well-prepared, leaving us unsatisfied and searching for alternatives. Host's Attitude and Service: The person in charge was anything but hospitable. He would openly smoke in front of guests, disregarding any sense of professionalism. Communication was poor, and instead of providing service, he seemed more interested in demanding tips for what was essentially third-rate treatment. Lack of Basic Hospitality: The host’s behavior bordered on rude and intimidating, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere rather than a welcoming one. It’s a shame that this houseboat is even in operation with such poor standards. I’d strongly recommend staying elsewhere to avoid the disappointment and discomfort we endured.

HUNZA :- Worst place. My experience at this houseboat resort was extremely disappointing and unsettling. Upon arrival, there was no staff on site—no manager, no workers, and no cook. The place felt abandoned and unsafe, which was very frightening. We were so concerned that we asked a worker from a neighboring houseboat to take us back. However, he informed us that the owner of our houseboat refused because we hadn’t yet paid. We would have gladly paid, but there was simply no one around to assist us. To make matters worse, we couldn’t even find water to drink, and the glass windows were broken. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this place.

We stayed at Hunza houseboat for one night in Feb 2024 and here is our review: Positives: 1. Owner of the Houseboat is nice, helpful and polite. Made our stay very pleasant. 2. Food served is very delicious. Tastes like home. 3. Houseboat was clean, well maintained. 4. Electric mattress worked very well in the chilly night. Things to be noted: 1. Very close to the Ghat, just 1 minute shikara ride (Quite a lot of houseboat are located close to ghats only). 2. Please remember that it is extra cold at Houseboat than the Srinagar city because of the Dal lake. Even though electric mattress worked well, it could heat only the bed...getting out of bed is something you would need courage for, specially in peak winters. 3. The houseboat has windows that can be used for entry and exit....you may want to check the locks of windows in your room and bathroom as they are usually unlocked. Although, it feels very safe but it is something i would recommend you to check. Final Verdict: There are lots and lots of houseboats in Dal lake and these guys are in travel business from over a decade. They know how to lure you into their trap. In such a scenario getting a decent houseboat and a polite and helpful owner is difficult. Our experience with the houseboat was very pleasant and we surely recommend Hunza Houseboat.

Dal lake is very dirty and need to be maintained properly by J&K tourism. Lots of insect observed on bed and in washroom. Limited food options available in dinner and breakfast. Its better to avoid houseboat stay instead.

We had wonderful stay in Hunza houseboat..Great Location,super hospitality, host is very polite. Good food.Good heating system n hot water availability.

We stayed in Srinagar from|1-6th April 2019, and boy were we lucky to stay at Hunza. Such an amazing houseboat. Super clean with beautiful picturesque surroundings. The owner, Shabbir bhai, is such a humble and decent person. Took care of us like family. Each day we ventured out post breakfast and returned tired to a delicious and home cooked dinner, prepared by his better half, Jameela. Shabbir guides us each day on things to do on our day out and provided everything we asked for. The houseboat is equipped with all facilities, clean bathroom|And electric blankets to keep ourselves warm during the chilly nights! Shabbir bhai made us feel at home even when we were away from home.He’s now part of family! Every time I will visit Kashmir in the future, Hunza will be my abode! I urged everyone to keep aside their fears snd go and enjoy the Kashmiri hospitality!!

We stayed on the last day of our trip. Its was fabulous. The interior was nice and finely decorated. The night view of the dal lake from the house boat was just ecstatic. The only problem is heating. This march the weather was little bit cold in srinagar but accordingly there was not much room heating facility available. But if we forgot that thing then I think every one must try to stay here for atleast a day.

Provide check in at 10. 30 am and nice food provided in luch, dinner and break fast on next day, good suggestion about local area and places to visit nearby to plan our further trip to other location at house boat guide us in making my trip easy always keep in contact with us during whole trip one week of Kashmir till we come back to our home.
