Hotel Dar-Es-Salam

One looks for either professionalism or a personal touch (homeliness) in a hotel. This lacked both. To me is was overpriced. But all said and done, I am ready to pay much more than this just to sit in their garden amongst the the plants and the birds. It is so beautiful and definitely one of the best gardens I have ever seen. Beautifully curated and absolutely perfect.

Our stay at Dar-ES Salam was a truly regal experience — the kind that lingers in memory long after you've returned home. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this property reflects luxury at every step. The beautifully manicured gardens, maintained with such care, immediately created a sense of peace and exclusivity. Every pathway, bloom, and view seemed perfectly placed to create an atmosphere of quiet opulence. The rooms were nothing short of magnificent — spacious, tastefully furnished, and exuding luxury from every corner. Antique accents throughout the property gave it a timeless charm, while the luxurious sit-outs offered a perfect spot to relax and soak in the lake views. It felt like staying in a royal retreat, yet with all the comforts of modern hospitality. The food was another highlight of our stay — each dish was a celebration of flavor and craftsmanship. The use of fine spices and rich ingredients reflected the royal spirit of the place. Every meal felt thoughtfully prepared, whether it was an authentic local delicacy or an international dish — the chef, truly a master of both local and global cuisines, brought finesse to everything served. Their deep understanding of local culture and places made our visit even more enriching. It was an amazing experience staying in this hotel. Stayed there for 3 days. By the end of the trip felt like home and didn't want to leave. It's so cozy and the stuff is so nice and helpful. Food is amazing as well. Since it's a small hotel they really care about their guests. 5 stars. They made my experience of Srinagar and Kashmir amazing. Highly suggest to stay there

The hotel situated on the banka=s of nigeen lake has a great location not to far from the main city but not in the midst of it . Easy to finds autos so you dont need a car while in Srinagar.||As mentioned by other reviewers the gardens are outstanding and it is a pleasure to just sit in the gardens as the gardens are a paradise for bird watchers along with the lake view. even in October they had flowers so assuming the flower blooming months would be a feast for the eyes.||Our room was comfortable and while it had old world charm along with modern amenities . It was a spacious room on the ground floor. Loved this place and I felt it was an ideal place to stay while in Srinagar.

Our stay at the Hotel Dar-es-Salaam in November 2024 was nothing short of spectacular! It’s a gorgeous property on the banks of Nishat Lake, the quiet and more peaceful side of the Dal lake. The garden is adorned with beautiful flowers and the Chinar tree has my heart! The food was home cooked and local delicacies, and very very nice. We also got a private Shikara ride from the hotel to Dal lake and it was an amazing experience! My only suggestion to the management is to refresh the rooms with newer towels. The towels were clean but they were quite old making it a bit underwhelming.

My family and I visited this lovely hotel while on our stay in Srinagar. This too was recommended to us by our friend Amish The Footloose Gypsy.||This lovely property is situated on the shore of the lake and is done tastefully and poses charm of the yesteryears. The staff are warm and kind and the food made is scrumptious. ||The charm of the hotel is different both in the day and night. For a fun experience we took a Shikara from dal lake to bring us to the hotel and it added to the whole charm and experience.

I went holidaying with friends to Srinagar and stayed at Dar e Salam . This was my second stay at this property. |Most beautiful, cosy 14 room property, right on the banks of Nigern lake, with their own private shikara, away from hustle and bustle.|Rooms are well appointed, comfortable and clean. With multiple lake facing lounges to laze and gaze at lake, bird watching. |Staff courteous , friendly, always ready to help, and at the same time non interfering. Dinner buffet spread was excellent with local cuisine included. |Last but not the least well appointed gardens and huge old oak tree in the lawns is just mesmerising.|Thank you team Dar e Salam for your hospitality.

What an outstanding place! The best property in Srinagar I’d say! Lovely rooms - an old world charm. Superb gardens .. on a beautiful lake the nigen lake. And definitely do the shikara ride from here till the dal- it’s such a beautiful experience.
