Hotel Gulshan Valley

Very bad hotel in srinagar. Location is having electricity problem.you will barely get electricity in the room.. electricity problem might cause no water in room. Hotel services is pathetic like if you ask for drinking water they will provide you tap water ( not sure who drinks the same) ,otherwise you have to buy water at 20 per /ltr. But go to nearby store you can buy the same at 12/ltr. Room has tv,but that is nothing but a box. Pillow is like some bunch of bricks. They get irritated if you ask to change it and say not possible. There are very minimal store nearby ( some grocery shop only). Don't ever think of booking the same if you are even looking for budget trip.Otherwise your trip will be spoiled .

Hotels did not provide with basics like towels, kettle, soaps. There was no intercom facility or way to connect with reception There was no availability of room service It was told by the tour that they will provide heating arrangements but the hotel did not have any such arrangements. The condition of the rooms was very bad, not cleaned, cigarette ashes were there and toilet also not cleaned, even some rooms from our group did not have tubelights. In the entrance there is no light. Around 6 pm it was dark without light my 6 year old son fell down and got hurt in chin area. We took him to hospital. Almost tour spoiled.

A good place to stay for university students. I must say this location is far better as compared to other locations in nearby. You will get all necessary things in nearby shops. Also the auto stand and bus stop is on walkable distance ~ 1 min.

It is not as good a hotel as they claim to be. We (my wife and I) had to stay here for a week as arrangements were made for us here by the University of Kashmir. Some of the drawbacks of this place:||1. No elevator available (need to climb multiple stairs).||2. No one available at the reception to answer calls.||3. A grumpy old do-it-all employee.||4. A dirty room which was probably not cleaned since the hotel was built.||5. An old creaky bed with a sponge mattress which will definitely ail your back.||6. No closet in the room. We had to live through our big bag for the whole week.||7. A dressing table with a smudged mirror. The height of the table is such that one has to sit on the floor to get dressed :)||8. Only one working electrical outlet in the room. We had to charge our laptop and mobiles alternately. (There were 2-3 other outlets which were not working). Also, the location of the outlets was terrible. They were not by the bedside, but on the opposite side, so that one had to walk all the way to the other side of the room to plug in something.||9. Even though we were there for one week, our room was never cleaned, and the bed was never made.||10. The bathroom stank and the shower was not working. Had to use a bucket for showering.||11. The bathroom slope was not sloped properly, in that the water got collected in the center of the bathroom instead of seeping towards the drainage.||12. The bathroom had no exhaust fan, but instead had an opening which opened directly into the hallway outside. Thus, people standing outside in the hallway could possibly hear what you were doing in the bathroom. Even more cause worthy of concern was that one could possibly use a ladder standing in the hallway and peep inside! Not that it happened.

Worst hotel ever. The food is of very low quality and the food wasn't even available after ordering prior 2 hours. The service is worst than all the hotels. The people working there don't have any seriousness and they don't bother about the people. Please do not choose this hotel in Srinagar. Worst experience ever.
