Palm tree hotel

It is a kind of 3* hotel by Kovalam standards. A better place, not modest. Clean, quiet and safe. The hotelier is friendly and speaks good English. The rooms are large, good mattress, water cooker, AC, no fridge. Internet is not perfect (that‘s why four stars rated), but when works, is good enough for video calls. The best is the balcony with swing chairs and a sea view! The photos show the reality.

I came to the hotel not knowing what to expect. The staff immediately put me at ease. They were kind and helpful. The room I was originally allocated did not have air conditioning, which I consider to be essential in this hot and humid climate. Fortunately I was able to change to a room with air conditioning which made my stay entirely bearable. The hotel itself is beginning to show its age, not the least in the rooms whose bathrooms left quite a bit to be desired. There was no fly wire screen on the bathroom window, which was inclined to let the mozzies in. The toilet seat was detached and there was no paper provided. The taps in shower and basin were like something from ancient Rome! They clearly hadn't been maintained since the place was built. However, these slight faults were matched by an incomparable price — 3000 Rupees a night (= £ 30.00) + 600 Rupees for the aircon. The aircon itself was not in its first flush of youth but worked ok. A drawback was that it would not work in "silent" mode to let you sleep. All these things are being corrected in their new hotel round the corner, which is nearing completion. It is called "Buddha's Rest" or something of that ilk. I requested a look round and it is lovely inside — with space for a fridge in each room as well. So, all in all, an excellent stay.

We stayed here for a night but our stay wasn't good. The approach road to the hotel is very narrow and once you reach the destination you are confused where to park. There is no parking and we had to pay for parking which was very disappointing. One piece of luggage we had to carry 3 floors and there was no provision for Lift which was another disappointment. The rooms were very old, unclean and not great and the washroom was just ok. The hotel is very close to the beach and the only factor to fleece you. I suggest you can shell out extra money to book your stay in Uday Samudra Beach Resort where customer service is superior and comfort is extraordinary.

Worst location, and not giving proper response and car parking. They weren't intimate before that there was no car parking and room walkable. Overall worst experience

Останавливалась в этом отеле на 2 месяца, идеальное местоположение, до пляжа метром 10, но на соседней небольшой улице от первой линии, в связи с этим нет никакого шума и музыки из ресторанов, что является большой проблемой отелей на самом пляже. Чисто, очень дружелюбный персонал, комнаты достаточно просторные и есть все необходимое. Каждый год провожу здесь по 2-4 месяца, это один из лучших отелей здесь по совокупности цены и качества.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 months, ideal location, 10 meters from the beach, but on the next small street from the first line, therefore there is no noise or music from restaurants, which is a big problem with hotels on the beach itself. Clean, very friendly staff, rooms are spacious enough and have everything you need. Every year I spend 2-4 months here, this is one of the best hotels here in terms of price and quality.
