Good reasonable and clean business hotel. I had been to this hotel twice for business trip. Very reasonable hotel. Neat and clean rooms. Restaurant and food was good. Easily noticeable from main road. Within close proximity of railway station and bus stand.

We had a limited stay, but we immensely enjoyed our stay. It is a very good hotel where one can easily spend few days. The rooms, facilities in the room are excellent and very comfortable. The location is a big plus point. One can easily walk around in the market place. The food including breakfast is delicious. The staff at the desk and others are very cooperative and courteous. We will book the same hotel when we will visit Kozhikode again.

I had the opportunity to stay at Keys Select by Lemon Tree (Malabar Gate) on 13th June 2025, and here’s my honest take on the experience: 📍 Location: The hotel enjoys a prime location right in the heart of Kozhikode city (Palayam) — making it convenient for both business and leisure travelers. Easy access to nearby shopping, restaurants, and city attractions is definitely a plus. 🏨 Property & Maintenance: The building is quite old and shows signs of wear and tear, which is noticeable from the exterior and common areas. While the property could benefit from better upkeep and renovation, it still retains a classic charm that seasoned travelers may appreciate. 🛏️ Rooms: Despite the age of the building, the rooms are well-maintained, neat, and clean. The bedding was comfortable and the essentials were in place. A peaceful stay inside the room is guaranteed. 🍽️ Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast was basic and average — not very elaborate, but sufficient for a quick start to the day. Don’t expect a lavish buffet, but you’ll find the essentials. 💰 Value for Money: For Rs. 3,000 including breakfast, it offers reasonable value, especially considering its location. However, with a bit more attention to infrastructure and service improvements, the experience could be elevated further.

Our stay at Malabar Gate Hotel was a great experience with our family and kids..staff members were very much curtious,humble and friendly.. whatever request we had ,they filled it in on time..we were very happy to be there...since it was raining,we cannot explore much...but the breakfast was amazing...call on service was prompt.. Printout copies were done on request... Thank you so much Malabar Gate Hotel for your pleasant Service..we will stay there in future too..

Completely disappointed by the customer service and facilities in the room. Even the plugs in the room is not working. Even the mugs were broken which is very dangerous.

A Comfortable Stay in the Heart of Kozhikode Malabar Gate Hotel has been a well-known name for years, and my stay here was quite comfortable. The rooms were clean, and the service was good, making it a reliable choice for travelers. However, I did feel that the rooms had an aged feel, lacking a modern touch. It’s not a deal-breaker, but if you prefer a more contemporary vibe, you might notice it. One thing to note is the dining experience. While the hotel offers food, I’d highly recommend exploring Kozhikode’s famous Malabar cuisine outside. The city has some legendary restaurants that serve authentic and historic flavors you wouldn’t want to miss. It’s not that the food here is bad, but stepping out to explore is definitely the better option! Overall, a decent stay with good service, but for food lovers, the best of Kozhikode is waiting just outside. 😊

We recently stayed at Keys Select By Lemon Tree Hotels, Malabar Gate, Kozhikode, booking three rooms for one night. Overall, it was a mixed experience. Here are some highlights: Positives: Excellent Breakfast: The breakfast offered a great variety of options, all well-prepared and delicious. It was a perfect start to our day! Convenient Parking: The hotel provided ample parking space, which made it very convenient for us to park our vehicle without any hassle. Quick Check-In and Check-Out: The check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient, saving us time and making the experience stress-free. Areas for Improvement: Safety Concerns: The rooms lacked a safety lock, which made us feel uneasy. Room Size: The rooms were much less spacious than expected, making it uncomfortable to move around. Ventilation Issues: The exhaust fan was not working, leading to a stuffy atmosphere in the room. Missing Amenities: There was no iron box available, which was inconvenient. Climate Control: The climate control system did not display the room temperature, limiting control over comfort. Lack of Basics: There were no plates provided in the room. Bathroom Design: There was no separation between wet and dry areas in the bathroom, making it hard to keep things dry. Storage Inadequacies: The room had a shortage of hangers. Basic Supplies: Tissues were not provided. These issues affected our comfort and made for an overall disappointing stay. We expected better standards from a reputable hotel chain like Lemon Tree. Hopefully, management can address these concerns to improve the experience for future guests.

I used to stay at this hotel in 2005-2006 time period and the rooms used to be excellent... Now it is not maintained properly... The furnishings have become old and un polished
