MIDTOWN RESIDENCY

Below average. Booked two rooms for a family of four and the good/bad starts from the location itself. Proximity-wise, it's close to the railway station, SM street, market etc. Everything's well within the reach. The problem is also this. Because it's situated right in the middle of a market, loud noises persist, even through the night. And the way to the stay is filthy with open drainage and foul smell. And it gets worse during the rain. Now coming to the room. For INR 800/room, you can't expect it to be top-notch but atleast decent. There were cockroaches and millipedes by the window, spray jet for the toilet in one room was missing and there were no blankets. There were no mosquitoes but when you open the window, you'd be welcomed by the noises from the market. Overall, if you're looking for a one night, quick in-and-out budget setup and if you happen to strike a deal in anyone of the travel websites, go for it. Otherwise, Idk if there are better options in this budget.

Booked this hotel after seeing the nice photos on Booking.com, but upon arrival, the room didn’t even meet basic lodge standards. The bed was dirty, and the towel provided was filthy—had to buy a new one just for a one-night stay. Worst of all, the toilet didn’t even have a water spray, something even budget lodges usually provide. Strongly recommend choosing a dormitory or lodge instead of staying at this hotel.

⭐ 1/5 — Worst Hotel Experience Ever! I stayed at Midtown Residency, Palayam (Kozhikode) from 18th to 22nd October, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was extremely hot and uncomfortable, and the surroundings were very noisy, making it impossible to rest peacefully. The area around the hotel was dirty, full of **garbage and stray dogs, giving a very unhygienic feel. The toilet was not clean — I even found a cockroach inside. The towel provided was smelly and had visible dirt stains, and to make things worse, there was no blanket / sheet provided. Even the door lock was broken and didn’t function properly, which felt unsafe. Overall, a terrible stay — I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, or peaceful stay in Kozhikode.

Today (09-09-2023), I had a very bad experience at Midtown Residency. Usually, I don’t write reviews, but I was emotionally fed up. My train was delayed by 5 hours, and since my one-year-old child was uncomfortable, I decided to take a nearby stay and unfortunately chose this hotel. I reached there at around 5 AM when it was still dark outside. Because of the timing, the booking system automatically set my stay as 09–10 instead of 08–09. When I explained the situation to the receptionist and requested either a date change or a cancellation so that I could rebook properly, he completely ignored my situation. Despite the fact that I had an infant with me and it was still night, he refused to help. He said rooms were available but demanded full payment again for a new booking. In reality, I only needed the room for 2–3 hours, yet I had to book for the whole day. When I contacted the booking agency, they told me I could arrange accommodation directly at the hotel. But the receptionist was extremely unprofessional — at first he was unavailable, and when contacted, he came late, only to behave rudely and play around as if my concerns didn’t matter. Even when I asked to speak with the management, he showed no care or responsibility. This experience left me emotionally drained. The service was heartless, careless, and money-minded. Nobody should ever stay here. Highly disappointed!

Thanks to Midtown Residency .. I was greeted in a very friendly way.. made me feel at home.. especially Mr.Suhail in the reception was always cheerful and willing to help .. Rooms were decent, but could be made to look attractive before guest check-in, we found out room doesn't have amenities like towels. The location is in Palayam marketso ideal distance to railway station and KSRTC bus station and even to SM street.

"Absolute disaster! The hotel was a dump, literally. Stained carpets, broken furniture, and a 'welcome' that felt more like a complaint about having to clean the room. Don't waste your money – there are far better places to sleep (and actually get clean sheets)." 1/10, would not recommend to my worst enemy.

The hotel is not running very well and isn't that great either, but it's okay considering the low price. Cleanliness is not well maintained. It's suitable for people who stay here for business purposes.
