NillHere is my thoughts about our stay at Hotel Ambadi - Thekkady. Thanks to hotel manager for letting us to do early check-in as per our request. 1. Location Located close to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, which makes it ideal for nature lovers. Nearby shops, eateries, and tourist attractions are within walking distance. Quiet and serene environment despite being near a popular tourist spot. 2. Ambiance and Architecture Traditional Kerala architecture, with wooden décor and rustic charm. Designed by renowned architect Laurie Baker, known for eco-friendly and sustainable designs. The ambiance reflects the local culture and heritage, giving guests an authentic experience. 3. Rooms Spacious rooms with basic amenities and traditional decor. No AC in some rooms, which could be uncomfortable during warmer months. Clean and well-maintained, but some rooms might feel a bit outdated. Some rooms offer beautiful views of the surrounding greenery. 4. Food and Dining The in-house restaurant serves local Kerala cuisine as well as North Indian and Continental options. The food quality is generally good, though some guests find it on the pricier side. Breakfast options are somewhat limited, but the food is freshly prepared. Friendly service from restaurant staff. 5. Service and Staff Courteous and helpful staff, often going out of their way to assist guests. Some guests have noted slow service, particularly during peak times. Housekeeping is prompt, but occasional delays can occur with requests. 6. Facilities Limited amenities; the hotel does not offer a pool, spa, or other luxury facilities. Basic facilities are well-maintained, though some may find them too minimalistic. Ideal for travelers seeking a simple, peaceful stay rather than a full resort experience. 7. Value for Money Reasonably priced for budget-conscious travelers, especially given the location and ambiance. Some guests feel it could offer more amenities for the price. 8. Overall Experience Great for travelers seeking a quiet, culturally rich stay close to nature. Not suited for those looking for high-end amenities or luxury experiences. Best suited for couples, families, and solo travelers who appreciate simplicity and cultural architecture.

NillThe property is awesome old and vintage. This place is in good position, nearby many shops and other tourist places. But the rooms are not well maintained! And the toilets are quite out dated plus not proper cleaned

NillHotel is in prime location. Most of the facilities available nearby. Service is good. Bedsheets and rooms are clean. But foul smell coming inside wardrobes. Balcony view is good. Safety is there for family as I saw many families stay inside the hotel.

NillI have stayed at hotel Ambadi several times. Their rooms are big and very clean. The best location in Thekkady. Walking distance from the park. Restaurant is not fancy but food is tasty and prices are good. Enough parking space. They can book safaris for you at the reception. Place can be full during holidays. But the way manage it doesn’t seem crowded. They have some duplex. Can be good for the family or groups. Highly recommended hotel in Thekkady.

On the outskirts of Periyar National Park, this rustic hotel is an 8-minute walk from the Mudra Cultural Centre and 15 km from hiking and birdwatching in Chellarcovil.,Accommodations range from rooms to duplexes with wooden staircases. There are also detached cottages. All come with tile or wood floors and en suite bathrooms; some have furnished balconies. There are no TVs and no air-conditioning. Children age 4 and under stay free with adults.,A casual restaurant, with exposed brick walls, serves varied cuisine. Walking tours and jeep safaris can be arranged by request.
