I had an extremely disappointing experience during my recent stay. Here's a summary of the issues encountered: 1. Booking Issues: Our booking wasn't confirmed upon arrival, (as the Host had some issues with Agoda) and we had to pay extra to secure our stay. 2. Unprofessional Host:The host exhibited a bad attitude, was not available on-site, and lied about her whereabouts. She eventually showed up when the booking issue escalated. She didn't care about the Customers and was very reluctant to agree, the mistake was on her side. 3. Safety Concerns: There was no security or anyone to watch over the stay. 4. Lack of Amenities: There was no hot water, no backup power, and we experienced frequent power outages. Despite paying for an AC room, we were without power for 8 hours, and in the end leading to no water as well. 5. Hygiene Issues: The bedspreads were unclean, there was no good drinking water, and the refrigerator was not working. Given these significant issues, I strongly advise other visitors to avoid booking their stay here.

If you are looking for a quiet and nice place to stay in Varkala, then this place is for you. Located on the south part of the cliffs, not closed to the main shops and bar, it's a good way to have another view of Varkala. The room are nice and the team helpful.

Very poor Service and very poor room. Please don't be fooled with the pics you see in the online room booking sites , they are fooling you by providing a premium facility like rooms. One of the worst stays only parking for 2 cars and room is not cleaned and not mainted properly. Actual pics are shared below. There is heater in bathroom but hot water will be available for 1 or 2 minutes. It's best not to opt this stay it's just a waste of Money.

We had a terrible experience here. Our booking wasn’t confirmed, and we had to pay extra. The host was unprofessional, lied about her whereabouts, and only appeared when the issue escalated. No security or anyone at the stay after check in, no hot water, frequent power outages (no AC for 8 hours and ran out of water), unclean bedspreads, no good drinking water, and a non-working refrigerator. Avoid booking here.

Worst service, reason for this statement 1. There is no electricity power in the room 2. They don't have backup power Support like UPS or generator 3. There's no water in room because of no power supply in the property 4. Very rude host 5. Some of online bookngs are showing their rooms for booking but After all the payment done the host will cancel all the online bookings with out call or infroming the customers And i faced more issue so this stay is not recommended

Very disappointing service, I reserved through online but reservation was not accepted there and they asked extra to stay there and there was no power and they don’t have backup power support then what is the use of booking ac room and on top of that we faced water problems. I’m very disappointed with this stay and I do not recommend it to anyone

Nice position close to the calm side of the beach, kind host allowing us to check in early and keep our bags on the check out. The room was ok and overall clean, but I put three stars because of a strong smell of mould that was there, that during the night was very annoying and also not very healthy. After sleeping there, my nose is congested - I strongly believe because of the mouldy environment of the room.

My experience at Gouris homestay was amazing. The host was super kind. Loved everything about this place.
