Homely stay

We stayed here for 10 days in December. Beautifully clean and efficiently run home stay. We had a double room spacious with hot shower comfortable beds, good qualiity of cupboards etc. The grounds are well kept and the staff are very helpful. It's in a very good position with easy access to the beach, local restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this lovely home stay.

House is in exelant location, very clear, very kind boss and personal. A garden is big with beautiful flowers and threes. Have a big place for the cars.Near the house is market with a grossery. Rooms is a big with a balcon and beautiful look in ocean.||Recomended everybody to visit this beautiful house and kind host.||Olivera Serbia

Location- right next to the helipad. It's a home stay with a neat small lawn.|Rooms- very spacious, clean, enough furniture and plug points placed across, WiFi available|Pricing- moderate|Breakfast- simple bread, bury, jam and eggs. |Absolutely worth it. ||

I've visited Varkala 3x in the past as a single bachelor with friends and have always stayed at La Exotica. Didn't really notice all the flaws of the property as I was always having so much fun in the beautiful town. Returned their with my wife and 2 year old daughter and can honestly say the only bad thing about Varkala is La Exotica.||||1 owner and his wife are completely rude and have no clue as to what service is||2 there's no staff to speak of. They use their personal servant as an make shift employee of the guest house. No front desk. No phone to speak of||3 we needed to warm up our milk for our daughter, and the owner had the nerve to inform me the use of fridge to store her milk and gas to warm it up "is not free." Yikes!||4 rooms are full of ants. When we returned home, discovered an army of them returned with me in my bags. Lovely!||5 no toilet paper. Guess I should my hands?||6 they gave us 2 bath towels for a 2 night stay (no hand towels). When I went downstairs to get more towels myself (b/c there's no one to call), the wife informed "you need to ask for towels. We don't have an infinite supply." Who the hell do you ask? Btw they had enough towels for the whole town to use in their storage room||7 at breakfast, we informed them we will visit Hindu temple and would return by 9:30, which they said would be no problem. When we returned, we found bread and omelettes cold that had been made over 30 minutes prior. There was a plate of fruits as well, which we ate a quarter of. Later in the day, the fn owner asked me to pay for eating the fruits as it was not included in our package. You gotta be kidding me!||8 wifi works for 6 hours a day, otherwise your SOL||||We ended up spending our last day at the Taj Resort. A world of difference.||||If you're single and going to have fun, there are many better options in Varkala. If you're going as a family and can afford rs6000 per night (about $100 per couple), go with Taj.

Very beautiful and clean home stay - as the pictures show. ||Quiet and peaceful atmosphere, perfect to relax.||1 min walking to the cliffs/shops/restaurants/beach.||Helpful and kind staff! ||||All in all: totally worth it!!

This is a lovely place to stay. It’s location is great as it is right in the middle of both sides of Varkala so you have the choice of middle cliff with shops, restaurants, steps to beach or south cliff beach which is quieter. It takes a quiet corner of the helipad so very convenient for taxis, walking to the temple and Hindu area too. The lovely owner and boy who helps her are friendly and helpful and very attentive to every need. Rooms are large and clean with cool marble floors and equipped with everything you need. We loved that the owner gave us water from her well which is 40 meters deep and full of pure healthy mineral water and tastes lovely.

Fantastic location - right next to the car park area that takes you down to the beach. Huge, clean rooms. Helpful & friendly Hotel Manager. Right across the road for scooter hire & trip planning office.|We doubled our time staying at Varkala beach, we loved everything about it so much.
