NillPay for luxury, make do with what you are dealt (and once you’re here - grin and bear it) Stayed here for 2 nights (having been swayed by glowing reviews from Code Nast ) and paid top dollar what what has been advertised as luxury camping PROS - staff with a special mention of Ramesh (pretty much the saving grace and the man who holds this place together) were very helpful within their limitations and Accomodation but have no local knowledge other than providing the daily functioning of Accomodation and meals. It is a pretty property CONS (there’s a bunch of them) 1. The Manager is not on property and is not contactable 2. The staff is not local and has NO idea of the surrounding area 3. No literature handy as to options around . I would consider this to be a must considering there is no internet and no cellular service available on property 4. Considering you pay 18-20k a night (I do not grudge this) heating in your room does not function through the night. They have room heaters which they turn on supposedly from 7:30-10:30 pm and then again for a couple hours in the morning (actual hours were 7:43-9:53pm on my watch) which makes your room uncomfortably hot during these hours and then uncomfortably cold through the night. You are provided with a hot water bottle per occupant and informed that you could use the electric water heater to replenish hot water at night when it turns cold. At this price band this is UNACCEPTABLE. Have stayed in accommodations costing a tenth which would provide electric blankets (they cost Rs 1400 on Amazon- would be happy to send you the link). At this altitude, grappling with mild AMS and insomnia as a result - this added to my woes and certainly isn’t what I’d bargained for. 5. Areas underneath furniture and beds unclean 6. Geyser has a very small storage capacity 7. Indian food is good but the Thai Curry had me sitting on the pot the entire night For what is being advertised as a LUXURY experience, this falls sadly short , considering what you will shell out for this. Might explain why we were the sole guests during our stay Stay away
