Taj Usha Kiran Palace, Gwalior

We stayed at the Taj Gwalior for two nights- Dec 22 – Dec 24. It was a fantastic stay at the property. Usha Kiran is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. While the property in itself is amazing, the servicing is equally excellent. We definitely recommend this property to be visited. A special mention for a few servicing stars who made our stay memorable. Chef Sumit and Manager Vivek, who ensured that our dietary preferences for non-spicy food were well catered for. Different variety of dishes prepared through out our stay for my mom speaks volume of the effort put in by them to make our experience memorable. Kudos to both of them! While the food was excellent, servicing of Ravi & Soumya is worth mentioning- wonderful hospitality. Also, a call out for the housekeeping staff - Gourav & Santosh for ensuring the room amenities were well taken care of. All in all a stay worth remembering. Will definitely plan another visit. ||

We stayed at Taj Usha Kiran Palace Gwalior to celebrate year end break and welcome new year. Truly we were made to feel like royalty. The property is exquisite, displaying old world charm and elegance. We booked Taj palace rooms and they upgraded us to suite. It was such a beautiful property resplendent in an elegant palace. But what really made us feel warm and special is the excellent hospitality extended by Taj staff. Here I would particularly like to convey my thanks to Ravi, Vanita. Namrata, Soumya, Abhishek and their general manager Ms Tanika for making us feel so welcome and giving a royal treatment. Thank you Taj, we will visit you soon 😊

Magnificent ancient palace in this city that is really worth the visit . Gwalior Fort and the temples are amazing. Excellent dinners recommended by Soumya at the hotel’s restaurant, the Silver Saloon. And still not as crowded as other destinations.

Beautiful hotel, set in sprawling gardens, with large rooms which have a separate sitting area, and nice bathroom. The restaurant is also good with a varied menu. The problem is when there is a wedding, the noise is overpowering and the rooms seem to shake with the music, sleep is impossible, so unless you are an invite avoid staying at these times.

One of the worst experiences at a Taj group of hotels we ever faced. No one to receive guests or guide with directions at the front. Restaurant staff was unattentive, super slow, had to be reminded to serve water thrice! Food was below average and took more than an hour to arrive. Staff and manager were busy hosting wedding guests. Would not recommend at all

We stayed at Taj Usha Kiran, Gwalior for 2 days. ( 14th & 15th Dec 2024) The stay was very pleasant. The staff was very co operative. Food was very good. Hotel is worth of money & i will strongly recommend my friends for stay and enjoy.

Typical snobbish snoots like all Taj hotels, treating Indians like second class people. I'm on a cross country motorbike tour and stopped here for lunch. I wanted to take a photo of my bike with the beautiful heritage palace building. I was rudely denied by all staff members from the guards to the receptionist to the manager. Tourist cars were allowed. Nobody spoke courteously, offered no apology or alternative, showed no empathy and acted only in a haughty impersonal dismissive manner in complete individualistic self-interest. This is the opposite of hospitality and I'm amazed at the sheer lack of training in decent customer service that the staff exhibited. Way to spoil a tourist's day. It's not even the photo, I would completely understand and be cool with it being denied. It's the dehumanisation and humiliation I felt that's hard to get over. Typical of these elitist hotels in heritage properties, made to feel like an unwelcome outsider in my own country.

It takes a team/support staff to make simple things great. Had a great pleasure meeting and interacting with the Taj staff in particular Somuya( restaurant), Yashivi(front desk) Nevideta and Raju ( Spa), Santosh and Manvendra. They are great host in each respective fields. Taking care of our needs and helped us even when it was outside her purview( going above and beyond literally). Our stay with Taj Usha Kiran, Gwalior has been great. It’s been all about, the humbleness, confidence, eagerness to help, not shying away even I’d have to make few extra rounds. The Royal thali, Somuya recommended was tasty and some dishes just reminded of home. We wish Somuya and team the very best. Took away one star as the room itself was not up to my standard. I request to the manager and cleaning staff to take one look under the bed( yes I do pay attention to everything) Food was great and many choices and it’s not the same menu each day. We had a great time with interacting other residents and surely have great memories.
