During our recent visit to Ujjain, we had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Rukmani Palace, a budget-friendly accommodation located approximately 2.5 kilometers from the famous Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple. Our stay here was pleasant overall, with some noteworthy highlights and a few minor drawbacks. Rooms & Room Service The rooms at Hotel Rukmani Palace were clean, decently maintained, and comfortable for a short stay. While the interiors are simple, they are functional and well-suited for pilgrims and families looking for a peaceful stay near the temple. One of the best aspects of our stay was the room service, which was prompt and courteous. The staff made an effort to ensure that requests were attended to quickly, whether it was for extra towels or tea in the evening. Staff Behavior The staff deserves a special mention for their professionalism and good behavior. From the front desk to the housekeeping personnel, everyone was polite, soft-spoken, and respectful. They made us feel welcome and tried their best to assist with any queries or needs during our stay. This is particularly valuable in a spiritual city like Ujjain, where warmth and hospitality go a long way in making the experience fulfilling. Location The hotel is located at a reasonable distance—around 2.5 kilometers—from the Mahakaleshwar Temple, making it convenient for those coming primarily for darshan. It’s easily accessible by auto-rickshaw or a short drive, and the neighborhood felt safe during both day and night. Food & Dining Experience One thing to be aware of is that Hotel Rukmani Palace does not have an in-house kitchen. However, they arrange food from their associated vendors and serve it directly to your room. The food quality was decent, and while it may not match the standards of a high-end restaurant, it is suitable for a homely meal during travel. Their complementary breakfast was a nice addition—prepared fresh, with good taste and hygiene—but the quantity could be a bit more generous. Guests with a good appetite may need to order something extra. Other Facilities As a budget hotel, Rukmani Palace focuses on the basics. There no cleaning of the room for the whole stay,the geyser was not working. Didn't like the service. Rooms are not upto the Mark.
